I saw this bare bones gl*** 32 roadster at Locomotion en Fete near Evry (just outside Paris) this summer. Looked like a bundle of fun, but what interested me was the ch***is. If you look at the horns it is clearly not a box section modern thing - there are all sorts of brackets and mountings for friction shocks etc. Look how deep the rails are in side view. The hood was firmly ****oned up and it was not possible to see into the engine compartment - deliberate I think. It would be very very difficult to run a fenderless gl***fibre car on the street it France - yet it seems to correctly registered. Anyone know the car? Any ideas on the ch***is?
I went back and reread your post , I dont know what a 32 truck frame looks like ,but since you said it was reg correct ,then I would guess 32 ford truck frame = 32 ford rego
Look at the last two photos. They clearly show a spring hanger which would indicate a parallel leaf spring front end - not something Ford ever used on its cars. Chevs and Chryslers did use that arrangement and I have no idea what European cars may have done so as well. A pretty good mystery here...
Stovebolt may well be on the right track here - could it be on a 1930s Peugeot ch***is - seeing as how the car is in France?
I think the suggestions re truck ch***is are right - it could be a Citroen B15 truck from the late 20's or early 30's. Ch***is is as deep and the bracketry looks similar at the front. It could also give the right year for the registration do***ents - vitally important in France as it is virtually impossible to run any sort of modified vehicle. BTW - any cinema buffs out there know the source of the final picture?
