First off.. WOW.. what a good time. Thanks to ALL that came out, ya'll put on one heck of the show. I hope all had a good time and got to run as much as they wanted to.

We did have a little trouble getting people in the gates in the morning, but thats only because of the big turn out. It took both me and the track management by surprise. Something we will have solved for next year for sure. Did he say next year? Yep!!!:D:D:D:D We'll also have the track to ourselves to make room for more race cars in the pits (and only race cars in the 'pits' side of the track) and be able to take over the "mudbog" area for spectator parking.

We had a ball!!! I hope ya'll did too. Here are some pics:

    This van RULES!!!!

One more of Nad's GREAT English Ford. This car really is stunning in person, and its got lines from about a dozen cars all mixed up in its design. You can just look at it for hours.

Thanks for coming out... did the coupe overheat on the way home? or is that solved?

Watch out.. I think Glenn is in for a new set of tires, then I think there is going to be a rematch:D

Donations are being accepted by me, the unemployed, for a new pair of rear tires for the Coupe :)

Racing the Coupe today was a drug that was something I really needed.
I know my son Cody (Rest in Peace Son) was with me and was smiling.
Thanks Alan, I so enjoyed myself.

Damn that car is sweeet! Haha!

I so wanted to run it, but I was afraid that the "modern" fuel injected motor would dissapoint people, so I just left it parked with the hood closed.

Great set of pictures Alan. Everything seemed to go well, other than the minor gate glitch. What a fun event! Very relaxed, informal and everyone had a grin. Thanks for bringing another super event to Florida. Next year should be a real barn-burner.

What a great day of racing! My father has not run a car down a drag strip in almost 15 years and just seeing him running that '60 Impala and having a great time was awesome. So thanks a lot, we'll see you next year and lets hope I have something to drive as well.

A drama free hoot that I hope was a great success so it can be done again next year.

I was behind you on the way out, when you got on it a little. I don't think it would disappoint at all.

Fucking blast Alan. This was possibly the best car event I've attended. So laid back, so friendly. Race who you want, when you want. I was there for six hours and it felt like maybe two. I think if more guys knew how cheap and easy it was to run their cars down the dragstrip ALL DAY, it would have been more crowded, but their loss our gain.
If you don't do this next year I'll be pissed.

  26. Had a great time, no drama, no crying and no bullshit. We will have a club car next year. And the wagon will have ladder bars and a posi. I've got to get it to hook up to see what it will really run.

I wasn't worried about the 315hp 338lbs tq disapointing anyone, but rather the 2008 5.3L Fuel Injected Vortec and 4l65e transmission under the hood not being "traditional", and all. She boogies just fine :D.

We had an absolute blast, you guys sure know how to party, when you run again next year, please count us in !! We raced and hung out with the Southern Slingshot guys, they are awesome, can't wait to see everyone again :D

  29. I drove the 61 miles to Lakeland, drag raced for the first time in my life, took it down the track as fast as knew how numerous times, once with Alan in the car (even did it once in 9.80 seconds) Then drove home 61 miles. In a car I bolted together myself.

Since getting my car drivable, the bar for "best time I've ever had" just keeps getting raised higher and higher...

You have 364 days until you can have this much fun... Get off the computer, go out to the garage NOW and just get it running!
