I got a e-mail from Edelbrock on a first production date on the new Slingshot intake, April 10 2009 , they said Speedway has a order in already and thier price will be $429.99
I have heard from a couple of users of *original* Edelbrock slingshots that they don't really run all that well.........that there's better induction for the street.........like Thickstun PM-7's........hearsay, I know.........just sayin'.... CB
CB: Really? I've always thought they were some good running pieces but I'm also not doubting guys who have run them. I know Edelbrock was always improving his designs so maybe there is another reason why it went out of production so quickly. Just a thought...
Seems pretty reasonable to me. It's a beautiful intake. The Tardel book mentions that they're pretty decent performers for a street flathead. Does anyone know when they're coming out? I was disappointed they didn't have one at the Edelbrock display at Goodguys Costa Mesa last weekend.
Got one. Have to say its a nice peace. Only problem is that ugly USA badge. Easy enough to remove... to bad they didn't cast the letters USA directly like the Edelbrock letters.
Was it released today? I was surprised that Edelbrock didn't have it on display at the show they hosted last weekend, if it's supposed to hit the shelves today. I don't know why the hell I didn't ask a rep while I was there.
That USA tag is cheasy but I still want one Grind that **** off, gl*** bead it, bury it in the yard call it NOS in a few weeks! Ltr Dave
I got mine from Speedway. I had them back-order it for me. They called on Tuesday late in the afternoon and said they had it in stock and asked if i still wanted it. Said yes and got it this afternoon.
Ryan, without saying much... I helped Chris put the body on a few weeks ago when I was traveling through town... This car is amazing... so clean... and detailed... can't wait to see it on the road... hats off to chris
Yeah, we have almost 10% sales tax here in some areas. Still I think it was a good deal since originals were going for $2000-3000...
I'll let Chris post the pictures and video . . . but we fired up his hot flathead two weekends ago and actually took it "around the block" last Saturday. We have more work to do on getting the head studs to seal (need to pull the heads, some of them are "weeping"). The ignition and/or coil has some issues at higher RPMs, etc . . . all the normal "working through a new flathead" stuff.
First off a huge thanks gos out to Dale "Bored&Stroked" for helping me with my flathead journey, ill start another thread about my car and post some quality pictures and a bit of a story in a few days. until then here is a link to a really ****py YouTube video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9akeT4Ua9lU
