We had a great time, it will be hard to attend a regular car show after this! Here's a few picks of Nads(The Karachi Krusher!) and myself getting in some racing! Thanks to the Poor Boys for the hospitality and Allen for the Idea. We should try and get together more often and do this! http://s173.photobucket.com/albums/w76/greyone66/?action=view¤t=20091025110803.flv<EMBED height=361 type=application/x-shockwave-flash width=600 src="<a href=" target="_blank" player.swf?file='http://vid173.photobucket.com/albums/w76/greyone66/20091025111508.flv"' static.photobucket.com http: wmode="transparent" allowNetworking="all" allowFullscreen="true"><EMBED height=361 type=application/x-shockwave-flash width=600 src="<a href=" target="_blank" player.swf?file='http://vid173.photobucket.com/albums/w76/greyone66/20091025110803.flv"' static.photobucket.com http: wmode="transparent" allowNetworking="all" allowFullscreen="true">
Wow, what a beautiful sight. I had a ball. I haven't been down a track since the early 80s, it can be humbling. We gotta build something really fast for next year, maybe put that Poncho 455 collecting dust to good use.
The credit goes to Alan, he put this thing together... And I had a blast! Once I found out you can run a car down a dragstrip without blowing it up, I couldn't stop! And Skippy's car must've made 30 runs!
Even I drove Skip's beast, it felt unwieldly and boatlike. I got in a good six runs, same thing, I realized she wasn't gonna blow up. I know my car go faster with a better shifter but I have no choice with it being a T-86 side shifter, there's no bolt on available, I had to adapt a Hurst. The best thing would be to drop in a Ford top loader but I'd lose the overdrive. We stopped at the Chinese buffet on 27 on the way home, their children's pricing is based upon height, not age, which could conceivably allow short people to eat as children, but then again I suppose any 46" tall person has about the same appetite. I asked the Chinese cashier if they measured their guests with or without shoes, she clearly had no idea what I was talking about. The beast made it home just fine but boy were my legs tired, there's just no room in that thing. oh yeah I scored a set of 54 Imperial hubcaps from Harry, that was cool.
Go GET EM' Nads looks like a blast, What a difference from what you dragged home to Fla. to now. Love You & Boiled Peanuts
Thanks for the bro deal, She still runs, runs good too, I was really thinking it was gonna blow up, but it didn't. Rossi was running hard too, a set of slicks woulda knocked a second off easy. I missed one of his several runs, one where he got sideways, Ann-Marie saw it she said, "I don't think he meant to do that." What a blast, we are so lucky we get to do this shit whilst y'all are freezing yer asses off up north.
Here's some pics on the way over , JT in a Hemi powered roadster and of course the "Krusher", Packard power at it's best! Also a nice shot of my sock. HEy Squirm!! Click on the black frame, it does work!
Wow that top insert gets blowed up from cabin pressure. You can't even see the driver, it's a good thing. Nice vids of yer tats Rossi. What a great day it was, thanks Alan and Michelle.
and Melissa too... Did anybody stay until the bitter end... was there any announcements... I know there was supposed to be some awards for most spectacular failure and such (even though I didn't think there was one?) We'll probably just have to wait for Alan to get back home and post.
The one that I'm talking about in Orlando is an outlaw track. But I am real cool with the Lakeland track, just throwing out options. Robert
REJ I haven't heard anything about a new track in Orlando, any more info? I guess we could block off Orange Blossom trail...??? Who knows what will happen with our show
Here's the link to the New Orlando Drag track that you guys are talking about: http://cfracingcomplex.com/drag-strip/drag-strip-info
