Any of you ford gurus out there that can help me?? Right now in our garage we are working on a 49 f-1 with a 5.0 HO. We have built the engin and put trick flow twisted wedge heads, cam, rockers, push rods, lifters, 70mm throttle body and egr plate, msd 6al box, wires, coil, the truck will sit there and idle just fine, if you try to quick rev it it will shake and hesitate like its out of time or loosing fuel, it has 24lb injectors in it, the rail pressure is 42 psi. We have double checked the timing and everything even internal timing, readjusted valves, the list goes on and on. LOL. Anybody have suggestions??

Is the Mass Air Meter calibrated for 24ib injectors? Also I had a loose ground wire do that to me once

what is the fuel psi when revving up engine or it could be the size of fuel lines, causing good fuel psi but not enough quanity.

i'll tell you right now, if it's a speed density computer (meaning theres NO mass airflow meter) thats how it's going to act with heads and a cam. the speed density cars will NOT respond well to big mods like that. it sucks but if i happen to be right. your best bet would be to drop another couple hundred dollars and convert it to mass air. go to www.stangnet.com if you have any questions.

not sure, 5/16 fuel lines, its stock MAF not sure, he had chip made for it

  6. The delta fuel pressure on those is 39 and a fraction. You shouldn't have 42 at idle. You should only have that pressure when you open the throttle. Does your regulator have a vacuum port and is it hooked up? There's about 10 things that can cause what you're describing and still not put any codes up.

Does it have the usual. MAP sensor, O2's, Temp all of those as well. I know the MAS is out.
