What's the current wisdom on using gasket sealer on the cylinder head, intake and exhaust manifold gaskets on a 218 MoPar flat head six?

I was planning on maybe a light coat, both sides, of copper spray-a-gasket but figured I should check with you all first.

CopperCoat on all head gaskets, Permatex red spray on intakes, nothing on exhaust.

Get a can of silver spray paint at the hardware store. $3 or $4.

Spray the gasket a nice coat, both sides. Let it dry.

Spray a second coat just before installing. Before it gets hard, still tacky even, put it together, torque it as normal.

I put mine together dry except for the block side of the head gasket which I sprayed the copper stuff on. 12K ago. No failures yet, and I do a lot of road trips. remember the intake and exhaust manifolds shold only be torqued to 15 lb ft or so because they need to move some withthe heat cycles. The primary concern withthe head is to follow the sequence around the head two or three time to the spec (65/70) then to retorque after a good heat cycle. I ran mine up to temp for about 20 minutes the let it cool to about 90 degrees on the temp gauge before the retorque.

The Dodge guys like Copper Coat. It gives a nice seal to the tiny machine imperfections.

Last time i did mine, I used the aluminum spray paint method. That was 6 years and 35,000 miles of 40 miles a day driving ago, it's just now starting to seep water from the head gasket. I'm going to use the copper stuff next time.
