Oh Yeah, and yesterday was one of them, I am also an older dude that the only thing I have done in moderation is make money. The roof was caving in on me and I was so overwhelmed I was sick. But late in the day I saw my cool buddy and his wife who sold me a wonderful 59 Ford 2-dr wagon to replace my 56 Plymouth Suburban which was my running driving machine, they sold it to me at a real bro price and now I have a ride to drive to next years must do events as my other 56 Suburban project will be a couple years in the making. Also talked to a couple of other friends, one giving me vintage plates for my new 59 Ford wagon, and encouragement from the others, as well as some e-mails from true friends encouraging me to stay the course. All of a sudden I was embarr***ed by my lack of for***ude and am ready to move forward again. My forum pal Patrick 66 and I both have 56 Plymouth wagon projects that have overwhelmed us at times, but like Patrick, I am moving forward realizing I am very lucky to have friends to bring me back to reality. When I am down about my projects sometimes I just get on this board and get rejuvinated. Enough rambling here!! Stay the course brother we are all with ya!! ~Sololobo~

I don't know about the dream... but it's the reality, and you know it will get better. It can't get much worse.

The very FIRST step is buying a car that is desirable, I cannot stress this enough. Sure, it might be CHEAPER to purchase that 1949 Chevrolet four door, or the Studebaker pickup truck. But, the fact of the matter is, they are simply not desirable/valuable vehicles, and therefore MUCH more difficult to sell if the time comes.* As an example, I have a 1955 Chevrolet 2-door sedan with 29,000 actual miles. I know that there is absolutely NO point in spending a ton of time, money, and effort restoring it to new because it is not a hardtop, nomad, or convertible. I would never get my money out of it. If I had the urge to build something, I would FIRST look for one of the more desirable body styles and THEN get to work. Obviously this is no guarantee that I can sell it, but it sure makes it a LOT easier.

*Note, I am NOT putting anyone's car choices down, I am simply stating the facts.

Yep, I am diving back in after a 9 month break. I had various reasons, money, lack of quality parts and just feeling overwhelmed with the amount of work!!! The whole project was one big money pit but the break did me good. <O:p</O:p

I will get the Flattie" done in the next few weeks and into the car. I can say I’m all in and back in the hobby!!<O:p</O:p

Go to a couple wicked car shows and get some inspiration.
