I don't have a lot to offer for history, but I would like to gather more photos of this car. My goal is to replicate it the best I can in 1/25 scale with the new release '32 5-Window that Revell put out. Look at the box for obvious reasons....I never knew the real car existed until I ran across this mag cover on this forum. thank you Details are important, so if anyone has interior, ch***is, engine ....any kind of photos of this car I would appreciate it.
check back issues of hot rod magazine ! someone did a pretty acurate recreation of that car a couple years ago !
I'll see what I can come up with but I think the interior includes Yellow and white pleats with chrome garnish moldings and perhaps a chrome dash. Don't forget the huge push bar out back ofset to one side. It's one of my favorite coupes and I wish I could see it in person. The Kennedy Bros. cloned it a couple years ago.
I'm pretty sure I posted pics of it on this link. I can't see photobucket pics at work so I'm not 100% sure. if there isn't any here I have some on my home computer. I'll check later. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=301315
Whoa!!! I just realized that this was an East Coast car. I think that should be stated for all to know!!
wow hey thanks Jeffrey! This is such a cool coupe! I didn't think I would have this much luck, thanks a bunch! If you find anymore or anyone else different angles etc....let me know please. My buddy Marty shared this photo today on my forum. His dad took this one in 1957. (he is on here too) in fact he probably posted this one in his thread of old photos.
My god I need a close up of that Model A's grille insert. Actually that whole car is rad!!! I wouldn't mind see more cars built like that now a days for sure.
I would like to see that one too, I don't know who or what though..not sure what to ask hah! I just did a google and found some rather useless photos (for making a replica in scale), but good information on the car. http://www.drcreview.com/news.asp?art=248
I think there's a recreation someone did in a back issue of Street Rodder... I'll have a look tonight
Satan is my favorite '32 5w. Here's some pics I took of it at CHRR 2007. I wish I had taken more. It was also featured in the Oct 07 issue of Street Rodder. There's also more pics of it on the Kennedy Bros myspace http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=131722995&albumId=1277426
Several pictures of the Kennedy Brothers clone of the Devil's Deuce is in Art of the Hot Rod. I'm pretty sure it's in that book. I'll check when I get home, but I'm 95% positive it's in there.
Oh man! You guys are great thanks! Brudwich, thanks for the photos! Thanks for all of your replies guys, this will help immensley!
Well I cant add much but the engine color looks to be Ford Bronze that they had on the Flat heads in 50 and 51. But other than that this is a real bad *** car!!
I saw this at the hot rod reunion a few years back. It is a stunning car. The Kennedy's did another awesome job.
those are cool old photos thanks! does anyone know what the color was originally? (I know it's blue, but any special mix?) I am sure I can come pretty close with the paints available, but maybe I can get an exact match. TIA
