I picked up an older edelbrock 3 X 2 manifold a few months ago for my 283 and found some carter carbs to go on it. Well I though hell I'll see what they look like on my motor. Set everything up and then moved on to cutting some copper up with my grinder. Next thing you know I'm in the emergency room. Few s***ches later and surgery scheduled for Thursday morning to repair a cut tendion......This is what not to do when working in your garage with a grinder.....Ha Ha
So I guess we need to know, what did you do? Did you drop the grinder on your foot/ankle/leg and it cut the tendon?
Intake and carbs look good. I busted my left thumb open with a sawzall once making a "cheapo" engine dolly out of s****. I could have bought eight of them for the cost of the ER visit. Were you cutting up copper for salvage?
chucks dont make very good work boots huh? who would of thunk it oh man that ****s though hope it heals good
Ok- we need the whole story here. I'm trying to picture you sitting on a stool, holding that copper between your toes, using the grinder (bench?) while holding a beer.
Grinded right across the top of my foot. Hit the tendion that holds the big toe in position. I wish there was beer involved it might not have hurt so bad. Just a cl***ic case of dumb ***.
that's what you get for putting those wheels on that Chevy. better change them out real quick or next time you'll lose a toe.
Sorry you got hurt, but isn't this two separate stories? What does the manifold have to do with the copper and the grinder and the big toe? Maybe it's the pain meds....
Worse, nike sandals , ya gotta laugh at this one Wheels came with the ride, 15" steelies are one there way
So you were cutting copper on the floor, no vice or clamp for safety, probably holding it down w/ your sandals............... WTF dude? Bet you don't do that again.
Sorry to hear this and the damn grinder will always win ! You aren't the first to pick a fight with a grinder and loose ! They are dangerous and can get away real fast ! Just wondering how the grinder cut you up ? Did you forget to tell us the part where you really tried to hold the piece of tubbing down with your foot instead of using a vise so these things don't happen ??????? How else could this have happened ? Next time be careful ! You did kinda get out lucky this time . Could have been a hell of a lot worst . Maybe you should consider steel tip shoes . I use them and they really aren't that bad to work in . I had my foot crushed with steel toe shoes once . If I didn't have them I would have loss my foot . now I use them allot ! Be careful and good luck with your recovery . RetroJim
Saftey third, I allways say. Get the right gear. Then tear it up. Wire wheels also have no mercy or comp***ion. Dont ask how I know.
