Yeah I know "Mustang Ball Joint Wedges" comes up in the search but they are mustang forums talking about them not where to buy them. Can you post a link of the ones you found? please thanks

Pro Motorsports Engineering https://www.drgas.net/category.php?cid=29&catid=4 makes the ball joint wedges, various vendors like Mustangs Plus sell them. You wil then drill your pivot points 1 5/8 lower

You also can use ball joint corrected angle arms.
Stock style http://www.opentrackerracingproducts.com/trackupper/

Fabricated tubular
Global West, my preference and what I run in my 1966 Fairlane GTA and 1968 Torino GT convertible. http://www.globalwest.net/1964-73_Mustang_tubular_upper_control_arms_-_Negative_Roll.htm

Total Control Products http://www.totalcontrolproducts.com/upper.html

Blue Moon/Control Freak which seems to be a not as good copy of the Global West arms. The Control Freak use poly bushings instead of Delrin and where the tubing joins the control arm mount is straight instead of the stonger looking Global West design. http://www.bluemooncars.com/bmm-store-catg-cfs_tubulararms.htm

8. Seems I remember kids came with their own wedgie kits when I was at school. All we had to do was grab and pull.........
Uhhh...... that is what where talking about......... right?

you dont really need the wedge kit if your droping 1in. thats what the shelby drop is.. if you go extreme and lower the upper arm more then 1-1/2 then you need the wedge kit. since your doing the shelby ddrop, and cutting a coil, you dont really need it

10. Disagree - Shelby drop is 1" more or less AND cut coils 1" or more adding up to 2" plus. I think he does need them

11. Damn that's funny.

He must be posting on here by osmosis

It doesn't work that way. If he is doing just the 1" Arning drop he does not need the wedge kit even if he uses drop springs. From DazeCars http://home.bresnan.net/~dazed/drop

“Lowering springs add to the total drop, meaning a 1" UCA drop with 1" lowering springs will require a negative wedge kit because the sum total is more than 1". ”
<SMALL> - </SMALL>
Drop springs will NOT effect the need for a negative wedge kit. This is a common misconception because people combine the drop of the springs and the UCA and think it is a drop of more than 1" and would require the negative wedge kit. Relocating the UCA mount changes suspension geometry. Minor changes to the UCA mount location, 1" or less, do not require you to make adjustments to the ball joint. It is the relocation of more than 1" that changes the geometry so much that it requires the use of the negative wedge kit. Drop springs on the other hand have absolutely no effect on suspension geometry, they only affect suspension travel, in fact you can take the springs out and you will still NOT need a negative wedge kit. Lowering springs do NOT add to the sun total of the drop

13. Except there was talk about him cutting the bump stop tower location or shortening the bumps themselves and I should have mentioned that I guess. Otherwise, you are correct

Thanks so much you guys for the info. Yes there is thought of cutting the bump stop in half because I wouldn't want to be sitting on them as I drive. The ride would be a little too tight for me. I would like to have a little spring travel before bottoming out.

Just so everyone is on the same page here are a few pics of the stance im looking to get. im using 3" blocks in the back and want the front to match. Im assuming that the cars in the pics below are also using 3" block with a shebly drop and cut coils.

The 1" A-arm drop should be fine for a street car, the 1 1/2" drop is for those who want race car handling. The 1" A arm drop still gives better geometry and handling. The lowest cost way is the one inch a arm drop WITHOUT the wedge kit and a lowering spring. And yes you will need to trim your bumper stop.

I had a friend CNC carve a pair out of a chunk of aluminum for me last summer....

hopefully I will have the fairlane rolling again by spring and can give some feed back
