ford trans question

I have a 1957 medium duty f100 and im trying to figure out should i swap,hop or just drive it with the factory4 on th floor it works?
is there any speed parts for this old ****** with the granny gear?
And what make is it?

NO.....its strong and thats about it! Prolly a ****er unit.

what are the plans for the truck?

 

well I have a 54 Chevrolet with a granny 4 speed, I'm pulling it and replacing it with a open drive shaft a 308 geared 10 bolt AND A 700r4 BECAUSE I WANT TO GO FASTER THAN 50MPH.

 

truck has been siiting for a while and i never really looked underneathe to see what i have going.i just wanted to get it running and i rebulded somethings.to do that and it runs drives.but i need a new steering box.... so well i went to remove the bell housing and it was held on by only a few threads and most of the metal was broken away. so i guess I may have to leave it until i figure out what i can find locally to drop in for a good price.. im moving to the next issue until i get more cash up for the build
