Posting here to remind all of the Chicago area HAMBers of a change in location of Chuck's , our regular breakfast meeting place for the SW Chicago HAMB & Eggers. Chuck is doing his part to stimulate the economy and your taste buds. A larger new place , more parking and the " VooDoo Lounge ". To help Chuck celebrate the new place were having a " Take Your Sweetie to Dinner " on Tuesday , October 27th at 7:00 pm. The new diggs are at 6501 W. 79th St, Burbank.Ill. After meeting every Saturday for almost two years Bill ( StuDbaker) thought it would be a great idea to take our Sweeties out to dinner to meet all the rest of the guys & gals. This is a one time evening event , unless Sweetie wants to get out more often. If any of you single guys dont have a Sweetie of the week, go get one and take her out. Chuck's features Cajun,Tex-Mex,Mexican and BarBque. Halloween is right around the corner and the opening of the "VooDoo Lounge" couldn't be timed better. No fancy dress code our anything, Just dont wear your pajamas. Remember, there is no excuse for you late risers not to be there. Drop me a note if your coming so I can save a seat for you and ?????.
Larry and friends, Jennifer and I were looking forward to meeting you all for drinks and eats but alas, I have cl*** that nite at 7:00 and I cant miss this one, my career future depends on it. Hopefully it is a hit with the ladies and we can do it again on another nite. Have a great time , I will be thinking of you while youre having fun and I'm not. Mike.
I just NOW read my prior post in the same light as Stu D Baker. Rest ***ured, we shall be clothed. But maybe I'll show up in the 'other form of dress" for breakfast on Saturday. Stay tuned!!
Hi to Larry, Glo, and all. To anyone else in the area, I've only made it out there to Chuck's just the once, but can definitely recommend the food - if I ever get out to IL again for work, I'll be sure to get down there.
By the time we get the girls settled in and the babysitter set up, you folks will be finishing up. We're going to try to figure out a way though!
Hi Andy, Nice hearing from you! Make sure you drop us a line if you're coming this way again so we can all meet up. Breakfast or whatever. Larry
Hi Larry & Larry! Don't know where the last six months have gone, but it was definitely a much better summer over here this year, thankfully. And a busy one, or does time just go quicker the older you get? Nights are beginning to draw in now, and we had the first nearly-frost the other morning so it's time to start working on the fleet ready for next year. I would have liked to have got back over there for the HCPU, but no chance for work - the boss was over in Europe at a trade show (maybe I should have volunteered to look after the place while he was away? LOL). Next year maybe I'll try and try arrange a vacation and not worry about work...
Larry: Do you report these little side jobs you do as additional income?,...or does Chuck pay you cash? Stu
So alfredfromchicago has the wig. Come to think of it, he was complaining about lack of hair at the Pile-Up.
Good turnout last night! Great location, great food, great friends, BIG fun....and even managed a quick group photo. Let's start in the far corner under the white dot: Larry (palosfv3) and Gail; continuing along the wall to the right, Gina (diamond49) standing and Mark (tiger mark); Bill (bill rinaldi) and Harlene; Tracy and Bill (Stu D Baker); rounding the corner, Kevin's wife Pat; Terry and Mike (1lowtrk). Continuing down the other side of the "L-shaped" table configuration: George (BTB-Derby) and Pat; Kevin (kevin carroll); Susan and Jim (jim32); Ardy and Bob (bobert); Lee and Mike (oldcarmike); Glo and Larry (oldbobsign).
Pat and myself want to thank all the great H.A.M.B people we met at Chucks. Great food, Great people. Thanks again. Big Kev.
It was good to see everyone and meet all the new faces. There was a little discussion about putting together another dinner event some time in the future. Thanks to all that traveled to attend. They drove from as far away as Rockford, Valporiso, Mokena , Plainfield, and Aurora . No one was table dancin this time but several in the crowd looked to have leadership qualities. Well see what happens next time. A fun time was had by all.
You guys have to post notices on these events earlier. Its a long drive up from Texas. I've tasted the food at the old Chuck's; I know how great this must have been. So, was there anything left after Hansen filled his plate?
