Hot Rodding in Sydney,Au.

Leave Thursday for Sydney.Staying with friends and touring in a 56 Buick wagon.And some of his 32's.We will be going to the show in Bright.Have a look around the south .And then up north along the coast.Any thing I should see or do?Let me know.Save a beer for me.

 

Some years ago I went from Sydney to the rod run at Brite. We stopped at the Etta****a (sp) Pub. Quite interesting!!!

 

I visit friends in AU for a month every two years or so. Do yourself a favor and don't get overly focused on the hot rod scene. Enjoy Australia for what it is. The place is AMAZING. See the Northern Beaches. Hit the Avalon RSL for a few beers. It's alot like California fifty years ago. And be careful. You might not want to come back.

Dont plan on to much hot rodding.My friend is one of the pioneers down there in hot rodding.We are doing all things tourist do.Sailing ,snorkeling,eating ,drinking,seeing our other friends.And making new friends.

Well, I'm in Brisbane if you're doing the Gold Coast thing.

 

We are going up north.want to see as much as we can.I'll be looking for you .

 

The Great Barrier Reef is insane! And make sure you have a '********ing cowboy' in Brizzy mate!

 

hot rod related, but you should go to "the picnic" in Pakenham, Victoria. Pretty big show over the long weekend here.

Come & see the Blue Mountains - about an hour & a half west of Sydney, it's not quite the Grand Canyon but equally as stunning - it's worth a look.

I'll give you a tour if you need it

Just a couple of suggesstions.

Do a ferry on Sydney Harbour and stop off at circular key etc incl the Opera House. You can catch one to Taronga Park Zoo which has heaps of cool Aussie and other animals. Im an Environmental Scientist and normally hate zoos but rate this. Just dont sit in the front rows at the seal show if you want to stay dry. Go to Manly Beach rather then the more famous Bondi.

If you are driving from Sydney to BrisVegas (900kms) lots of lovely towns with Byron Bay and surronds a high light. Think old school Cali. The Gold Coast (800km from Syd) is like Fla high rise condos with amu*****t parks etc.

Made it back from the land down under.If your thinking about going ,GO.We had a great time.First week saw Sydney ,the harbor,my wife did the Bridge climb.I went out and played.went to the gardens.The fruit bats have taken over part of the gardens.These things are as big as a red tailed hawk.I was out in the yard one night,and one these bats landed in the tree I was standing under.WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!!! My friend looks up .Oh just a bat.The ones here are 3ins. not 3 feet.
Went to a car show south of Sydney.It was at a German dinner club.Meet some nice people.Went up to New Castle and meet up with Al Fontian and wife and son.I'll see you guys at Bonneville.
The next week we went up tp Port Douglas.Went diving on the reef.Went to the rain forest.relaxed, drank ,relaxed ,drank......
If you are thinking about going .GO!
