Anyone else that used to street race on US 1 near Ojus or out on Hiway 27, Hollywood Blvd, Krome Ave, S. Miami etc ? I had a 57 Ford Custom 300 with a 427/425 in it, blue & white. I know few that are gone. Funny Car racer Paul Smith, Ronny Burkhart , **** Murphy were one I recall.

I know a couple of guys who used to race around there. I just saw Bob Lee run his injected 32 coupe run in WPB this weekend.

Late 50's, use to run my 55 Chevy out on Powerline road in Pompano Beach. I remember a 57 silver 210 Chevy hardtop with a 270 motor that was a terror. I think the owner was a guy by the name of Henry. Anybody recall him?

I remember Bob Lee, man that name goes way back. He wasnt a street racer that I recall, best my memory is says a fast 32 chanelled Ford 5 window altered @ Hollywood Dragway. Someone correct me if Im wrong. Never raced on 84, ran out of Pizza Palace in Hialeah & N Miami on 27th Ave. Before I-95 was open we hung out at Skippys on 117th & NW 7th Ave, home of the real crazies, around 1963 or so. Had a 301 57 Vette then, but no money to gamble with. I worked at FP&L in Pompano for a while in 71 as a lineman
