I'm going through my 64 F100 and really can't stand the stock grille. I was wondering if you guys would share some pics/idea's of cool front end treatments to give me a little inspiration?

  3. Tough grille to change because it's a big square hole to fill. Short of a later model truck tube grille - maybe one for an 81-up Chevy pickup - I'm not sure what will work, easily anyhow.

I like the style of Jeem's truck, thanks for that one Chadillac! I'd much rather use pre 64 parts then stuff off newer models. I kinda have a dual headlight idea stuck in my head. Anybody seen any 60's Fords with more then two headlights???

Can't fault this one, much nicer than stock or a floating tube grille.

I was originally going to do the quad head lights. Theres a HAMB member that has that set up. Green with silver scallops. Awesome truck! He's from Arizona too.

That truck belongs to ElPolacko and is...just ridiculous. There is a ton of thought and craftsmanship in that rig. Absoltely WILD!!! We'll be waiting for the gates to open at the GCC swap tomorrow morning and i'm hoping to come across the some parts so I can get to work on this project.

  11. I thought I had seen on with a Galaxy or Fairlane grill with quad headlights, but don't know where I saw it, or if I even liked it. It was a long time ago.

Bringing it back up, Jimmy did a rendering as well as Dan Pic***o where they did grill swaps. I want to think it was Jimmy that did the narrowed 61 Cad grill. If I was going for a more custom look I'd do it in a heart beat.

How about a 65 Imperial grille or a 63-65 Riviera grille or a modified 59 Pontiac grille or a 62 Chevy grille ?????

Almost any of the early sixties stamped aluminum grilles should be able to be modified to fit.

  14. I used a 66 full-sized Oldsmobile grille and quad light set-up on my 62 F-100. The headlight buckets bolted right up to the radiator support and I just shortened the grille to fit, took about 2 hours.

Lots of great ideas guys, Thanks!! I gotta get the grill out of the truck, it seems like it likes the grill more then I do and refuses to let it go. It looks as though i'm gonna have to cut it out(its beat to **** anyways) to avoid taking out the radiator, etc... Just gotta get over to my folks "barn" and grab some tools I stored there when I moved a couple months back. Next? I guess its time to finally hit the junkyards...

  18. A few years ago we built a 63 and used a narrowed 60 Merc car grill. We narrowed it in the sections between the headlights. this brought the outer lights closer to the inside ones. We thought this looked better. Tried to find a picture with no success.

  19. Maybe some floating headlights like a 60 Ford. I like the grille bars on this custom.

I like the 62 Grille much better than the 64. Buy a painted one ahd have it plated. The stainles 62 grille was not very durable. Rod

How about a '57 Meteor grille mated to a '56 truck light on each end?
