Harbor Freight Item number 44751 "8 Piece **** Welding Clamp Set". As I recall, they were $4.99 for the 8 pieces. Same exact clamp as Eastwood sells.

Hmmm, website doesn't show them. I got them from our local store H_F, not too long ago, maybe 6-months or so.

Ok mister rich guy :) but $5 only gets you one clamp and Horrible Freight no longer sells them at my store.
Eastwood clamps leave about .050 gap
    Banding material is about .030

you guys must be really broke if $5 is to much to spend on these. By the time I ran around and bought all the stuff to build these and actually built them I maybe could make them a little cheaper but time is money too as well as the gas I would burn getting all the stuff.

I think they are discontinued. The store only had 9 sets so I bought all of them. I figure with the other brands costing what they do I couldn't beat it.

I was going to Harbor freight anyways to get a bead roller.

You're the one that started whining about spending $100+
The average completed Rod is going to set you back over 20K so why whine about 100?

I wasn't whining about the money. I was more concerned with the amount of clamps for the money. $100 isn't to much to spend on good tools but When I can get 72 clamps for $45 compared to 12 clamps for $90 I think i made the right decision.

I don't think I'll have 20K in both my dodges combined when I'm done.

As much as I hate HF, $.63 each isn't worth my time making them.

I have trouble with the HF and the eastwood clamps. If you happen to touch the blade of the clamp with the welder it will make the clamp almost impossible to remove because the weld will stick to the clamp better than the sheet metal?
I found some several years ago at a swap meet that had a copper blade and these are by far my favorite clamps. Weld will not stick to them, they are very thin and they cool quicker.

I just picked up 2 packages from HF at 4.99 each. The one in Shawnee Ks has a whole shelf full.

Wouldn't not touching the clamp with the welder kind of make sense? Doesn't touching a grounded metal clamp with a welder cons***ute "welding"???

Sorry, but that's just too f'ng funny.

BTW, if you're a blind welder, I apologize for my remarks........

The harbor freight by me never has them clamps and seems to have no idea what i'm talkin' about when I ask. Eastwood just sent me an email a couple weeks ago where they had the clamps on sale, 4 for $19.99 so i bit the bullet and got 2 sets.

Picked up 16 at HF last week. Probably the only thing I am willing to buy there, but all of the ones in my area carry them, and I have 3 stores in range.

I wont make something that is $0.63.
