yeah, looking at your avatar pic and then over to the new one...gotta say, that first one was spot-on

  2. Hey Jim. I liked the lower version myself. What are you thinking for a dash cause that might change the whole balance of the windshield height and angle.

I disagree...I think you still need to create the ****pit...and bein that low, you lose the whole thing and it becomes one big sweep. again...IMHO :)

changing the windshield shape now seems like a bad idea...so much of the car has progressed with it in place...you may not realize it Jim, but when you cut down the fins and redid the front end, your eye was taking the winshield shape into account...

for the dash, im gonna duplicate what i did behind/between the seats,,

  10. I think I'd make a mock-up windshield out of plexigl*** if I had enough s**** and a means to heat it to curve it. If it's too tall, you can cut an inch off with a scroll saw. But I almost think if I was going to drive the **** out of this thing... I'd mock up my seat, sit in it, and see which height is better from the driver's seat before finalizing it.

I mean, if you want bugs in your teeth, you'd build a motorcycle, right?

I like how the curve of the door dip flows into the windshield frame. It's all in the details.

    Hey Jim,

I'd like to suggest that you move the foward line of your pancaked hood panel foward atleast 4''-6''. The reason being if you ever have to pull the motor, it's gonna be a real ***** for Gubber to get the mill outa there without cuttin sheetmetal! Even with a bolt- in crossmember, it'll be a real job.

I liked the second version of the frame, the one with the early Vette/356 Porsche Spyder vibe!

Cool ride, but to keep the proportions correct (in my eyes), I like the taller windshield...

I really like what you've done with the waterfall between the seats. I did something similar with my '59 T'Bird roadster, using a pair of fender extensions for a '48 Pontiac, and chunks of two '59 Caddy fenders as headrest/fairings. Nice way to use those old fenders you had!

The whole thing looks very "Moto-rama" dream car-ish. Nice. I don't envy all the welding you're gonna have to do!

My vote on the windshield, if it matters: A ***ch too low, although it hurts me to say it...

Just going to throw this one out there. A bit less radical on the door cut and a little taller window.

Looks like my pic did not attach.

Jim, I agree the w/s is a little too low . . . not much just a inch + Other than that it has the dream car feel. Keep on going. Also tghe comment on making the hood larger for maintenance in the future.

I was going to suggest moving it back further, then I went to the next page and you had already done it. It looks a lot better...and that inch makes all the difference in the world. Nice work man!

I agree with Lucky. The car was looking really nice and proportional until you lowered the windsheild.

Lowcabs version looks really nice. The windsheild flows right into the doors.

With the amount of work that you have into the "balance" of your car, all it will take is one thing like the windsheild to throw it way off.

the pic I was lookin for was with it moved back to the original location...this one looks like before you moved it back...what i'm seeing with the corners farther foward is the balance is off...when the windshield was wrapped around more (deeper), it balanced the long rear..that is why I didn't like the new version with more cut from the doors...the *** got thrown wayyy out of proportion and became too long. before, once you cut down the fins, it had a sweet balance to it, graceful even...yeah, it looks more like early vette/porsche windscreen which is rad as I love both of those cars, but those cars were shorter. your car is longer, therefore needing that deepness to the screen to really give it that ****pit feel and balance the front to the rear.

  29. The second mockup looks right to Me, I like the flow from the windshield angle down into the front door edge, looks Great ! I'd also make a larger hood opening for better access.
