We are building some brackets to mount Metric calipers on some MII spindles. If I call the parts house and ask for GM 78-88 metric calipers you know the answer I am going to get...What would be a generic model of car I could specify so they can get me the correct ones, Malibu, Camaro, Impala, etc.?? Thanks-
80 pontiac grand prix, 79-80 monte carlo, 80 malibu, anything in that era GM except trucks for the most part.
Be sure to check the holes for the banjo bolt that holds the brake hose on. They came with either SAE or Metric threads. Rebuilts could be either one. DAHIK!
Do yourself a favor Skip stock calipers entirely. US brake makes an "overbore" caliper that improves brake feel and performance by a huge amount. It's listed in the catalog right alongside the stock calipers. NAPA and several national chains carry US brake and the last pair I bought were $33 apiece. I've always been into those OT cars and they've always had weak-**** brakes. The overbore calipers are night and day difference in pedal feel. Good luck.
