M90 supercharger

I just picked up an old m90 supercharger from a mustang or thunderbird application and am having sometrouble pulling it apart. I got the snout off but am not sure how to seperate anthing else without prying into the case. If your running an m90 can you post some picture showing how you mounted them

Are there V -belt pulleys out there?

I doubt there are v-belt pulleys available, unless you want to make some.
The factories quit using them.

You'll probably find more help on a Mustang/T-bird board.

 

Why would you want to take it apart?

 

To see if theres a reason why it was so cheap lol. The bearings and bushing probably havent been replace ever

 

I think this might be an M62, but I think it's similar to what you're trying to do. It's on a 225 slant 6. There was a tread a while back on M62's, maybe you could find something there. Not sure on how different the 90's and 62's are.

 

I probably going to take some round stock and maching it into a pulley unless I can find a V pulley that fits

M90 was in 89 to 94 (maybe later?) T-bird Super Coupe, used an intercooler and Ford EEC IV fuel injection on their 3.8 litre V6. Some early Fox Mustang four poppers were turbo/carburetor. '84-'86 SVO's and '85-'88 T-birds were fuel injected/intercooled turbo charged four poppers.

You might want to try to contact a guy with a website called Too High PSI (www.toohighpsi.com). I remember him adapting two M90s to a 351 and slapping it in a former turbo T-bird. Maybe he knows of an easy way to get it apart, but if the thing spins smooth and quiet, why would you want to?

The Pentastar Parts (www.pentastarparts.com) people in Australia just outside Sydney make an intake and kit (longer snout, etc.) to adapt the Eaton type supercharger (M90 a**** others) to a slant six. Maybe some of their stuff could help you out, even if you're not running the leaning tower of power. Nice folks, and friendly when you get them on the phone.

Why not run a stock serpentine type belt and spend the fabrication time whipping up a trick "old school" (if you don't call it "old skool" you won't have to add the requisite rat rod touches) sheet metal shroud or cover around it?

I have a nice diagram of the M90 as installed in a T-Bird. I'll try to find it. There is a company here in the states that is the Eaton authorized rebuilder of these units called Magnuson. THey have snouts and pulleys. Never seen a V-belt pulley for one. Wouldn't run a v-belt if I could on a blower.

A.) You never said what engine you were fitting this too.

B.) If you can't figure this out, should you be attempting this project?

 

Its a 250ci and i thought i'd ask around id say im lazy ya .

 

i mounted an m90 to a vw engine and got a pulley from graingers. i think it was a brownie something, worked pretty good.
