Jersey's Mid Winter Thrash

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 2tall2beahotrodder, Nov 8, 2004.

  1. I came to the conclusion, if i ever wanted to finish my Modified Project by May, that I'd need some help.

Me and some buddies thought it would be cool to have a Get-together in winter since theirs no events going on. And it Clicked.

To hold a Cool Thrash, and have some winter fun.

For the last 2 weeks, i've been tossing and turning at night thinking of what i Need and when i should hold this event.
I need you guys to give me your word if you will be interested in comming for a day, showing me and others skills, and haveing a great time.

I thought to hold it backyard style , in central jersey Some time in Mid December. Not completely out side in the Freezing cold, but in a 1 1/2 car garage.

I will get a nice propane Heater so we're not freezing our ars's off. Ill provide breakfast, lunch and possible dinner for a few local guys. And Free Beer

I just need to know soon, how many guys will come. And if i need more supplies, parts, etc.

The plan is to get my Dodge modified, rolling and steering . hopefully have the Engine and trans mounted too.

I do have a freshly rebuilt 305 that will be going in this beast, but with my limited time schedual, ill have to use a dumby block and trans.

Ive been hauling ***, all over NJ to get parts, im just worried that Maybe Mid December is too early.

I need some feedback, on when this should take place. Mid December? or Early January?

I do need to get a few parts pronto. People have been flaking me over on Rear Arc Spring, Ladder bars, and SBC motor mounts..

If your reading this and have something please let me know if your willing to sell..

And once again, please let me know if you want to stop by, and help me out.. and any info or suggestions is helpful

    thanks
    steve-

    Steve-

What rear spring are you specifically looking for? Transverse? I have something, but I'm not sure what it's from. I can tell you that it wont fit a Model A frame, but that's all I know. I'd like to make it to your thrash, but if I can't I could give the spring to Sawzall.

Me and my dad would definitely come down if you want. When you get more info I guess just pm me or email me at demonspeedshop@yahoo.com . Id love to help out and plus we might have some 305 stuff we could give you if you wanted. We have a dis***embled 1985 305 sbc in the shop that we dont need so if you wanted any parts off it you could have em for free. But yeah, just send me some info if you get a chance and if theres still space in the garage for more people.

  17. I have a lincoln 150. 220 volt with enough gas to last me a while.
    Large 5 foot high compressior.
I do have a Torch, but only enough gas to last a few minutes of cutting.
Couple angle grinders ,few hand drills.
    drill press
    few sawzalls.

I'll be good with tools, I might need a few cut off wheels but other than that, it should be good. Materials should be good also. I have quite enough 1/8th steel for brackets but nothing else bigger.

I made a few mounts already, but ill need some help getting the rear spring mounted to the rear. along with the bars

  18. Moondisc, i shoulda took up your offer before the others. 2 guys offered to give them to me for nothing, i only had to pay for shipping... 2 weeks go by, and nothing by ******** emails came back..

Thanks for the offer.. Hopefully this T-spring will play out .

I was going to give you the one I had too
Always like to help out kids.
I could have almost thrown the thing from NY to Jersey, so shipping would have been cheap too.
Let that be a lesson to you young man! [IMG]
