I'll post some shots from TX. Stat Championships at Denton today. There was a good turn out for a first time race. The sun was out and the temps. mild. Some good racing and no bad mishaps. All is good. dwrfab Don Ross
More shots: In the staging lanes for the on track cackle fest. The Scorpion V and Bill Crosby owning and driving ,the Gizzle Hopper with Gretchen at the wheel, Floyd Head's 1969 unrestored car with Nick Polson driving. some altereds in the mix. Out on the track with Ed Miller of the Texas Timing ***ociation describing and introducing the cars as every one gets ready to fire up. The Roadsters were up track out of my camera range , but the white Fiat is Buddy Anderson's Widdle White Wabit altered from 1956 and unrestored. The Gizzle Hopper and The Scorpion V. Sorry I don't have sound on this camera. Lots of other things going on in the pits and the track but my world seemes to revolve around the old cars and talking shop with interested partys, just cant take enough pictures. The last shot is three of my dear friends and Crew on the Scorpion 1 dragster. Left is Paul Adams a local photo collecter and racer from back at Caddo Mills days. He helps and was in on the first discussions of the recreation of Scorpion 1, Center is Mart Higgenbothem Famed Funny car driver with Mike Burkheart and the Drag on Vega. Right is Jimmy Garretson my land lord and helper on the Scorpion 1. dwrfab Don Ross
Marc: I alwase enjoy talking dragster ch***is' with interested persons. Hope you guys think your thing through and just have fun with the deal and be safe. dwrfab Don Ross
Dang Marc..ya'll back home already...good seeing ya today and can't wait to see you and your crew in Feb. Was a kewl day of watching cars going fast
We had a pretty good time Sunday checking out the cars and watching some good racing. There were several exciting p***es, but , unfortunately I was not ready with the camera on those. I did manage to get a few videos of some runs at the end of the event. Enjoy... Final run - car in the right lane had issues after the burnout so they just let the other car go with the stalled out car sitting in the lane. I was a little concerned about this one with some of these cars moving across the track during the day, but it turned out ok....
Thanks Don,wish I could have made it...long trip for me for a one day deal..No photos of Scorpion 1 with Bobby and Ruth?????

Got to see the wildman Tim (Yo Baby) in his Volvo tearing the track up. Charles (Tinker 51) and Jeremy (TexasHarcore) - it was good meeting you guys. Catch everyone in February!!! <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
It was a great time racing and seeing everyone at the last race of the year. I had some of the wildest rides ever in the 55, when my suspension gave way in the semi final run ,I won the round and had to run it the way it was in the finals not knowing how it would react, needless to say I almost hit the wall ,I tried to stay in it but could not,fun p*** though, the crowd seemed to have enjoyed it. Can't wait for the Texas Thaw.
Good for racing. Hope you get that ch***is problem fixed. The Tri-Five Kings were there in force. All three of us.
tim your bus makes my 60 look so *****in' we'll be back next year maybe i'll bring some more pecans for traction compound !!
