I need to give some attention to 2 auto tranmissions.
So the first question is - (***uming I have a choice) which Rebuilder Kit should I be looking to purchase and which should I AVOID.

    Transmissions in question:
    1964 AMC Rambler American, Fash-o-matic (BW t35 - I think)

    1957-ish Chrysler Push****on, Cast Iron Torqueflite (Not a 727)

    Any TIPS???

  2. I have never worked on those particular ******s, but for the GM and Chrysler ******s I HAVE worked on, I have always had great results using TransGo brand and the reprogramming kits sold under the name GIL YOUNGER or something like that.

The last ones I bought were from NAPA.
I usually don't like NAPA for many things, but the trans rebuild kits and similar are the best I have found.

I am not a professional trans man, just a hobbyist. Someone else may have a better suggestion, but these are my favorites for easy instructions and best re-programming results.

The Gil Younger/Transgo kits have always given me perfect results even on ******s that were notorious for having problems from the factory and aftermarket troubles. The guys who designed the kits seem to know exactly what to do to make the ******s work the way the factory should have.

A while back I recommended the same to somebody else, and a few others here posted and said they also reccomend the same brand trans kits. Others swear by them also.

Automatic Transmission Service Group has the best manuals and tech info available.
Transgo has the best parts and kits.

Between the two of them, I have no need for anything from B&M or TCI.

I have no idea - that's part of the problem - when I run across something I wanted to know if I should buy it or not. I've seen some Lempco stuff, but suspect it was old stock so I was hesitant.

The company I use is called W.I.T. ..that stands for Whatever It Takes. They have a "master with steels" that is complete with filter and pump bushing. You can find them here

The only place I recall being mentioned on the AMC-List (where a lot of us Rambler guys hang on-line!) is North West Transmission Parts (www.nwtparts.com). I purchased a kit for a M-35 (or T-35... same thing) from them years ago, but the guys say they still have them.
