I agree with Larry. It's definitely worth the trip if you have never seen this collection. I will miss it when it's gone. Doc.
I hope this doesn't affect your employment. I will be getting a hold you soon concerning what we talked about over the summer. r
It shouldnt Robin, its all part of the same company but a different division if you will. I have a full plate of events scheduled for AREA 57 in 2010. But with that said, you just never know in this economy. Thanks for thinking of me though! Anytime you are ready.....I have a few small projects I am working on as well as winter approaches. Thanks Larry
good auction, cars brought more than I thought they would. You can go to the web. site and see pix and prices.
I just saw this. Now this just breaks my heart. I remember these cars when they were in a private building in Tempe AZ right next to shop they were restored in. I hope some of you saw them while they were together as you'd never see a finer group of restored 57 cars. I remember so many of those cars. The blue Desoto is still my favorite.
I found out tonight from the person who maintains the private collection for a man in Syracuse, NE that the '57 Merc Pace Car and a few others will be joining his boss' collection of muscle and other classic cars. They're in the process of refurbishing the storage building to get ready for them and a bunch of the memorabilia that was sold off. Plan is that they'll have no scheduled tours over the winter, but will open again in the spring.
