(Filthy Frank is not a man of his word.)<o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com<img src=" images="" smilies="" redface.gif="" border="0" alt="" title="Embarrassment" smilieid="2" class="inlineimg"></o:smarttagtype>

Filthy Frank and I made a deal over the phone, to purchase this 32 body, Saturday evening the 31st.
    My friend and I left <st1:city w:st="on">San Francisco</st1:city> that night @ 10pm, drove 450mls (one way), arrived in <st1:city w:st="on"><st1>Riverside</st1> </st1:city>around 5am and got a room at a Motel 6.
A few hours later at 8am I received a phone call from Filthy Frank to tell us that another deal was made and that the body was sold to another party.
I just want it to be known that Filthy Frank is not a man of his word.
He wasted our time and money on a fraudulent ass deal.

I think I'd be a little leary of doing a deal with a guy that goes by "Filthy Frank".

  14. wow! what a douch bag. thats not the kind of shit that needs to be going on here we got ebay for that. craigslist is getting just as bad. bummer dude!

  15. Well, it's not a deal until the guy has money in his hand unfortunately - but that is a shitty way to do business.

I've been burned by a few HAMBers recently, its a sad state of affairs, I'm starting to not trust buying stuff from here too. Makes it worse when your OS and can't go 'pay a visit' to get your money back.

I should add, I have had some great buying experiences here too, pity about the minority that ruin it for all. I think we like to think were all into the same stuff and made of the same stuff.

A verbal agreement can be considered a contract too. I guess it depends on how it is worded.

    Sucks this had to happen.

Okay,I'll have to stay impartial here, for two reasons.

First reason,I read all of Frank's posts, and he doesn't seem like a bad guy, even though he did sell that A body to someone else. Second reason: Did the OP bother to call ahead and inform Frank that he was coming down to get the A body beforehand and make sure the deal was still on,and by this I mean did he call Frank at least two days in advance? If not, then I can't feel too bad for the OP because if he would have called,it would have saved him an unnecessary trip to Riverside.

Like the saying goes,a deal is a deal once cash exchanges hands. Until then,it's all fair game. Communication is also a very important part of any deal, and it seems like there might have been a lack of communication.

Ive let potential buyers walk because of verbal agreements that didnt come off. These days its real easy to secure a deal with an online deposit. It sucks that you drove that far for nothing, but Ive been burned from both ends of this one.

It really sucks that sometimes a mans word doesn't mean shit anymore.Sorry man, that really blows!!

  25. I don't know guys . . . his post seems to denote that he made a deal on the 31st (last Saturday) and drove down late that night to pick it up the next day. My guess is that he probably told 'Mr. Dirty' he was coming down the next day to pick it up. A man's word should be enough . . . how the hell else was money going to change hands until he showed up the next day to hand it over? Should have had his body and been home the next day.

"Do Unto Others" -- the best rule to live life by. Seems like Frank is building up some BAD Karma . . . he'll reap what he sows some day.

And Yes . . . I'd be pissed as hell if I made a deal on Saturday, drove 450 miles to pick it up the next day and he backed out - who wouldn't!

has anyone else noticed that this guy was not even a hamb member prior to posting the rant? how did he communicate with frank ? or did he post a second user name just to bust franks chops?
i would not trust a post that the only one is to bitch and moan...lets give the benefit of the doubt to the actual hamb member first.

This could also be like the Craigslist people that try to low ball someone and when the person won't sell due to low balling, the person who tried to buy whatever it is they are trying to buy goes and makes a post flaming the person that was the seller.

I agree, but I had a Hamber I'll let remain nameless renig on a deal. After a week of planning transportation, etc. (long-dsitance trade) He calls me the day we're supposed to head out and says his wife doesn't want him to trade.

    Then again, I guess didn't have a man's word.

  30. a verbal agreement is meaningless and does not hold up under the law. the days of a handshake deal are long gone. go for something local that you can check out, not 450 miles away. you know the first guy that offers more bucks is going to get any deal.
