This from the Wilsons family, don and leon. They ran flat heads out of arlington texas. there's a mix of caddo and green valley. the years 50ish to 60. the 8mm i have from them range from 56-65. have fun and i hope you will enjoy. Charles Faulkner
Take a look, that shot of the Red car (our AA/ Gas dragster) up against the blue car (The Bald Iggle) is our Lincoln powered dragster which was right before the GizzleHopper.
Boy, the first one looks like a Chassis Research frame with a Lyndwood style roll bar. What ever it is it's classic early 60's digger.
Charles: That yellow dragster with a Pontiac wagon behind it is The Late Bill Collins. Brian, is the last shot in first group also your dragster w/Llincoln?? dwrfab Don Ross
Hey Chas, Great bunch of photos...The first one looks like Bob Huddleston and Chas Smith in that pic...Are these from the Wilson Bros collection???
Gosh makes me home sick for the Valley! Every one was so thrilled about the 4 wide. How many remember 4 wide at Green Valley. Dad won in 62 against Grady Bryant, Milton & Snow, and another 62 in a flag start 4 wide. Yes Crosby I am that old. Rob
This one definately looks like a Pontiac digger. perhaps Eddie Hill? I know he ran the Double Dragon at the time but, he was noted for his use of large front tires and I remember he had a red '62 GP like in the back ground. He must have had 2 diggers at this time. The more I look at it, the more I think it is Eddie Hills. I've pics of this car from the front but, this is the first I have seen from the side. Can anyone verify? thanks, Steve Hosting- 8th annual Nostalgic Show & Go! March 27-28, 2010 Phoenix www.nostalgicshowandgo.org
The Pony was for sure Eddie Hills fuel Pony. It ran really really good. Don, yes, that is out Lincoln AA/G dragster car in both the photo's. I was the last of the "Red Witch" cars and was right before the GizlleHopper. We had another AA/G dragster after the GizzleHopper which was our last car. We lost it in a trailer accident. The trailer broke loose from the hitch and ran into a culvert at about 65 mph. Ouch..............
yes that is eddie. i have bonnie oxley collection from when she was married to eddie, and that car is in there, but i'm still working on that stuff now. charles
