SO....... for those of you that dont know....... I will be organizing an event called Vintage Torque Fest in May 2010. I am looking for people that you may know that have some nice rides that would not necessarily fit in with the dirt track exhibition outside. Example - The Roswell Rod will be there..........that is a museum piece and will NOT be going out on the track that day.....unless Fritz gets really loaded! ha So I am asking the community here to email me at coolstuff@earthlink.net or post info here on the site.... I need ANY email or contact info on getting some of these really nice cars to come for the inside section of the show. Currently we have about 12 cars slated for inside, but I want to at least get double that for the inside. I am still working on a few leads from people that either have scheduling problems or feel that May is too far away to worry about committing to a show. But the earlier I fill up the inside show section - the less I have to do once April gets here! So if you know anyone in the southern part of Wisconsin or Minnesota - Northern Illinois - or Iowa that have really cool cars (remember this is a no billet, pre '65 show) PLEASE let me know. We have Jack Walker bringin the Hirohata clone and the Blue Danube, and the Egglestons are bringin the nice hemi powered hot rod as well, and the Willys and Olds from Hot Rod Rebel on the Road will be there (thanks Bob!) Gimme a shout. and the details for the show are at :
got 1 response today - THANKS still looking for others that may know some nice cars that are too afraid of the dirt
I have just watched a lot of the Hunnert footage on DVD and there are a lot of nice rides out there.......in the grand scheme of things there were really only a handful of art cars / over the top cars that were a little outta place. There were a LOT of nice mild customs running though - they gotta be somewhat local - if you have one of them - please let me know. I need someone to keep the Hirohata clone and the Blue Danube company inside at the Torque Fest. Looking for rides in the southern MN, Southern WI, Iowa, Illinois area.
What about Ployboy and his Atomic Punk Bubble top? Aaron Grote for those that dont know this ******* Hero.
anyone that hates me - well - I guess they dont know me.........but if there are some that kind of hate what I am trying to do... well - they can stay home. and miss out on a ton of fun.....there may be many people that are "too cool" to come out to a first time event...... and after the fourth or fifth year - when they show up for the first time.........they will tell everyone they were there from the very beginning. Yes - some may think this a bit ambitious or over reaching - but honestly I think if people will support this event - it will be a really "cant miss" event in the midwest. so those that hate - I will leave it to the ones that actually know me and are on board with the vision of what we are trying to bring to Iowa...... as for the pinstripers.....I have already had a lot of them in contact with me. and there is already a lot of exposure for these guys at all the World of Wheels shows....
are the Barris DVDs out already? you did not email me! of course I want them - the great Piero products always sell well and you know I dont hate you Piero - I have nothing but love for you there is too little time in this world to hate gotta keep it on the postive my brother as for the **** rods - well - if they wanna show up - they are welcome too I suppose - the crowds that are there may throw rotten vegetables at them though ha seriously - I dont get the whole - this car is not cool enough thing - so some guy has some stuff laying around in his garage and he puts it together..........good for him. I wont do it that way - but that is me. Rodney King comes into play again: "Cant we all just get along?"
I'm Going with my Panhead Chopper & The "Roswell Rod" to John's show Anyone that Hates John must be an ***hole, He's like John boy Walton & Opie rolled into one guy! Fritz
I met you at south beloit. you seem to a nice guy. I may not have a car but i will show up though. I wanna see fritz's cars in person....jones
Well, I love you man...and you're right, you don't need my kind of help?! So...I'll see you at the next show?! I'm going back to the shop/studio/garage and build something to take to your show in May...I might even get it done, before then and drive it to some World of Wheels show?!? I'll post pictures of my progress on a seperate post Hijack of this post is now over....until next time?!
I need as much help as I can get - dont need/want any drama.... I have enough of that in my everyday life. Dont want to add to that! Anyone that is in the area that knows any show rods (like Mason Egglestons hemi powered hot rod) that wanna show up for the inside part of the show......they are welcome as well. Just has to be nice traditional hot rod that you would have seen in the little pages back in the day the billet clad street rods wont be inside our show........if they wanna come there will be special parking outside. there have actually been 4 more responses - So I really appreciate those that have got back to me. Keep spreading the word coolstuff@earthlink.net or private message me and I will get back to ya
looking forward too it and hoping to have the roadster pickup finished to bring down ! i commend you for actually doing sompthing like this and puting together an event like this in the midwest !
Sounds like it will be a killer show!! Great cars and vendors. I know I am supporting him and this show 100%. Ought to be a great show and the proceeds will definatly be going to a great cause! Hopefully there is no crybabies trying to crash a great show which we all need more of in the midwest here. You know if theres anything we can help with just let the "OLIVER BUILT" crew know.
It will be a good show... I was just giving you **** John!!! cause I like you.. Good luck ****a.. Piero
I think that the Cheaters from Milwaukee are making a club trip out of this. John is a great guy and we are going to do what we can to help him out... We should have some pretty cool customs there John. Jack
Talk to the Zettle Bros. Their 65 GTO G***er is gorgeous and would look good inside, but it's a '65 so some rule bending would be required. Their A/FX Falcon may be ready by then, too
Hi John, my wife is due in May... will there be amble accommodations for her to give birth at the show? Patiently waiting for your response, Jake Cheaters Car Club, Milwaukee
wow - I am truly blown away by ya'll SO we are gonna have representation from Los Punk Rods from KC, Cheaters from Milwaukee, Bare Bones from Chicago.......waaaay cool. as for Jaker - I think there is a small 10 x 10 storage shed under the bleachers there - we will turn that into a sterile environment. I am sure if we yell loud enough some people will come to help you birth a baby! ha
will be placing an ad in Kustoms Illustrated when it comes out in Jan. If there are people in the midwest with some cool rides - please contact me: coolstuff@earthlink.net
