Wheel arches is what we'd say for the wheel openings in a monocoque car - We don't use "fenders" normally unless familiar with american hot rod terminology - going fenderless for instance. For that car the front fenders would be referred to as "wings" or "front wings" and the rear fenders (as nicked by the tat man) would be "rear wings" What rodders call cycle guards would be sometimes called mudguards - more commonly used when on a motorbike for instance. The parts stolen by the tat man would have been called the rear wings and the radiator shell.
The tat man? It aint a guy with tattoo's! It's the old geezer collecting scrap with the horse and cart.
Very enjoyable. My only question was why he picked out the car he did when there were ton's of really cool cars in that junkyard. The other thing was you need to suspend disbelief because in the real work that little girl would be in College when the car was really finished.
Awesome, oh the memories that brings back. There were tat men with horses all the way into the early 70s. Didja see the 'rubbish' on the cart? It's worth thousands now. I'm glad the poncy git in the sportscar got what was coming.
Any man who hauls his frame to the mechanic in a wheelbarrow is fucking awesome ... who needs a tow truck or trailer when you can just push your rolling chassis to the mechanic for an alignment. That was great.
actually fender= wing bonnet=hood boot =trunk tyre=tire matrix=heater core and i'm building a 29 coupé this should help http://lotus-europa.com/manuals/misc/newbie/terminology.htm I was waiting for cujo to freak out and eat everyone !
