I was wondering if any of the knowledgeable fellows out there would be able to tell me the ideal width of a diff intended for a 32 roadster?

My front axel with spindels and hubs is around 59 inches wide.

    Thanks gimpyshotrods....
sounds about right, I have a diff that measures 51-3/4" and looks too narrow.

The most correct way to measure a rear end width is shown above :)

My 32 roadster ( full fendered ) has a late 60's Ford Bronco rear end which is almost 58 inches wide.

My 32 3W coupe has a narrowed 9 inch Ford. It measures 56 inches wide.

After paint and with the fenders installed :D

Here is a online listing of common Fords and their rear end widths. I understand that you are NOT in the US of A ... so the list may not be of a lot of value.

You may also see this measurement referred to as WMS to WMS (Wheel Mounting Surface to Wheel Mounting Surface) when looking around the web. Same thing, different words. There may be other terms for it too, since you are on the other side of the planet from me.

    Happy hunting!
