I left early this morning to check out this junk yard here in Southern, WV. Someone told me a while back there were some old cars there. Well, there was well over 300 50's and older ones there. I took a bunch of pics. I put them up on a separate page instead of posting all of them here to make it more "board friendly". All of the ones I resized are posted on http://s760.photobucket.com/albums/**250/chieftain52/Junkyard/ Thought I'd share the pics I took... I'm going back in the next week or so to get a few things for my cars.
Jeeze, for someone like me who dosent have **** to work on, i would love to just take one of those cars.
I hope those dead carc***es get picked clean before the crusher get them. And I thought WI cars were rusty!
WOW!!! do you have a phone number or a adress? i would like to go and take a look make a weakend out of it. thanks www.myspace.com/1lowbuick
wild pictures, as a wagon fan I sure would like to get a hold of some of those. A lot of 2 door wagons, very cool! Is he selling whole cars or just parting out??
And Mrs. Trucked Up is wondering why I am in the corner in the fetal position................................
Nice find! Looks like there are several that could be brought back pretty easily! Can you tell me if the cab behind this truck is a 40-46 Chevy cab? If you have info, PM me please.
Dave, great find, man! All the old car boneyards I haunted when young are now gone with the wind. SO, it is great to know a few still survive!!! Thanks for the pix, buddy.
I am planning to go back next week, when I do, I'll get a phone number for those who want to call the guy. He will sell whole cars or just parts. Some cars he wants to sell whole and not part out. His prices aren't necessarily "cheap" but they are reasonable. I believe it was a 47-53. I don't recall seeing any of the 40-46 trucks there. I'm not saying there aren't any though, because I most likely didn't see everything.
283John, yeah! And I always thought the back was inspired by the '50s horror flick, "The Deadly Mantis" ! LOL
Denise needs to jump on that Olds wagon. It's just what she needs to haul her go cart to shows. That twin carb Buick manifold should be saved. It was a actory option in only '41 and neat impossible to find.
I actually asked him about that intake, he told me he had a Convertible that his dad bought new (or grandfather). He wanted to look and see if he had any other intakes around before he would let that one go...
They had the 3 GM early 50's wagons, Olds Pontiac & Chev all with the same body, just different dash and front ends. I love those early 50's Olds wagons. Brian
Pontiac, Im in Southern West Virginia too. Can you tell me where this is? I would love to check it out. Thanks Ben
Maybe I'm spoiled by what's available here, but I wasn't impressed by much in the pics. Some of the tri five stuff looked ok, but otherwise.....
Great pictures, WV is very hard on vehicles in the open, still allot of "Savable" tin. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
