I am getting a 1946 Mercury coupe, and I need some ideas of what I can do make it easy on the eyes. I know that I want it as draggin and skirted, with twin spots, and it will run a modified flattie. I can not chop the top, but looking for some body modifications, and interior suggestions. Also want to hear ideas regarding paint colors and schemes. Thanks, and postem them that pics.

    Here is one.
    Go to Carnut.com.
Look at index of pics, select year and model.
You will get a series of thumbnails, just enlarge the one you want to see by cliking on the pic.

That looks like a nice start. I like them with stock bodies(don't hate me) with some gingerbread removed, slammed on WWW's.

Don't recall where I stole this photo but I thought it was a neat car. Could be a HAMBer's car. [IMG]

[/ QUOTE ] Would never be upset with your opinion (or any one's), glad to hear your view and thanks for the compliment on the 46. What is gingerbread? I missed the boat on that one. LOL

Here is the one I have. I bought it from Grumpy back a couple months ago. It was owned by 2 other HAMBers before him.

Here's an old picture of mine. The color is a Ford color they call "Thistle" It seems to fit the round body well.

This one's from Australia... I think a HAMBster owns it.

Here's another stock body coupe. I agree that getting rid of the "gingerbread" is good. I shaved the front turn signal/parking lights and all of the fender and trunk trim. There's a bunch of bright work on these old Mercs and it's kind of busy and ugly imho. Mine's a 47 and I had the chromed grill surround too. I was lucky to find a guy with a NOS one on his shop wall that he sold me very reasonably. Although its not "traditional", George Poteet has a nice Ford Coupe on his website. www.********.net
