Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Scooterville, Nov 9, 2004.

  1. Hello all. I was just curious if there were any fellow 59 El camino owners on here that would like to share their photos? I'm just curious to see the variables of how 59's can look. Here's mine. if ya want to post a 60 elky or anything else that would be cool , too.

  6. The filled gate sure looks neat. Too bad it'd be more of a PITA than anything on a wagon or delivery.

I'm still lusting for a '59 El Camino so anyone who wants to off one can park it in my shop anytime. I'll take good care of it and might even pay you eventually. [IMG] [IMG]

I sold mine 13 years ago, I still miss it to this day. The most regretful thing I ever did. It had a 348 and a 4 speed, but it was tri-power truck. It was running a 4 bbl, but I had the tri-power and the air cleaner. I sold the whole thing for $1600. An air cleaner itself is worth that much. I can't even find a picture of my old truck, gawd I miss her.
    I'm a fucking idiot, I wish I a '59 Elky again.
I've got a '60 Brookwood wagon that I drive everyday.
I'm gonna have another '59 one day, I like '60s, but '59s are the shit.

BTW, you've got a lovely truck, I dig it a lot.

I've always wondered how a 59-60 Elcamino would look like chopped just enough to make coupe/ conv windshield fit. Anybody tried this?

  16. It's backed by a 69 vette 427/w/350 turbo. Just ask Cadillacin Marcus. he knows all about it hehe.
i'll post pics of the engine bay soon.

  17. here's one with the roof cut off.but like you said epinut,
a nice chop on the windsheild would be cooler.

  19. Damn I really want a '59.

I have a '65 now but I think I am going to have to move it on down the road so I can get me a '59.

Heres my 59. It was my first car i got it when I was 13 and spent a lot of time on it getting it ready for the big 16th B-Day it kept me out of a lot of trouble. it is a 348 tri power car tube grille, shaved handles all the hood trim removed, hood eyebrows narrowed tailgate shaved. served as my daily driver for 11 years it is now in need of front Quarters and new paint and interior but thats what happens if you drive them. I havent even started the car for a year now I think Ill get it running a take a ride in it this weekend. you got me fired up on it again.

I had a 59 Elky years ago, I will try to dig up my one picture of it. Had a 283, powerglide and a face that only a mother could love. I sold it 15 years ago and regret it to this day. Hind sight is always 20 bucks or something. I have been kicking around the idea of trying to track down the bucket, but don't know where to begin. The DMV won't give me any info other than what I already have. Anybody with ideas on where to look?

No problem Scoot! I'm a show off! Glad you like it. I'm afraid it's gonna have to be sold soon though. Sorry for the spam but it;s a Ca. car that's had a little rust in the floor fixed. It's got a pretty basic 350 with a Muncie 4 sp. and a new interior etc. If anyone's interested drop me a PM. It's in the want ad section here only.

You know, I think I saw yours in the Nov. Old Skool Rodz, & I was going to mail you some photos of a 1/25 I did last year.

Once again, only plastic, not the real deal.
