ok folks im starting a new build thread this is my grandsons 1955 f100 (he is 13) been collecting parts for about 1 year got a bed from nevada (its perfect) this was a project that the owner had started then passed away (truck sat outside for about 9 years) doors (already chopped) hood , front bumper , interior parts etc... have been in his garage in primer all this time mikel and i started stripping the frame (front and rear end) today we are going to slam it to the ground (all stock susp) we are thinkin about putting in a 330 desota hemi w/pushbutton auto 16" steelies with 3 " whites wheels we think will be dove gray (to match seats) frame cast iron gray in single stage engine the same probably leave single 4 bbl intake with a splitter for 2 2bbls wood slat bed with fuel cell in rear frame area with access door any suggestions are welcome we want to reverse the springs front and rear from bottom to top i understand there may be some concerns about steering linkage clearance when this is done mikel got his first "tourch duty" today did good didnt burn down the shop we are bringing the frame inside in the next couple of weeks get it blasted and weld some supports in start on brakes etc.. any one want to trade some steelies for the aluminum slots on the frame ? i didnt mention the body color we were thinking single stage white with egg shell clear to flatten some (no waxing this ride) we should finish this by his 16th birthday that should be proud day for both of us gonna have to give him driving lessons on the the 29 hemi to get used to it before the big day we are sitting here relaxing after some dirty work today i think we will get mikel started on his own account on the hamb soon he a sponge for hot rod info what better place to learn and observe than here later todd and mikel
im not too sure about the front, but you can get all your drop in the rear for almost free. if you go spring under, remove a couple leafs and scoot the spring hangers up, that should give you all the needed drop. all i know of the front is when you start dropping the front you have to correct the steering. either way, should be a badass project. hopefully the kid keeps interest in it!

It's the 315 Super Red Ram with some Doc Floyd magic under the Valve covers. I run an 833 4 speed over drive behind it and once broke in will get 4 2bbls and some Valve covers. Should be fun. The Wizzard
I STILL HAVE THE 55 I DID 3 YEARS AGO. I removed all the leaves in the rear except 4. Did not turn the rear shackles. Installed a mustang 2 front with regular springs to get the drop I wanted. Installed a BigBlok Chevy and 700R4 with an 8.8 ford rear. Does great! Running 255X15 tires. Good project!!
well we are getting some work done , told mikel its "JUST LIKE EATIN AN ELEPHANT , 1 BITE AT A TIME" we plan on doing every sat. for the next few months (hopefully) and try to put a dent in this thing . next step is doing the floor , probably gonna use .059 sheet like i used on the 29 A . well its lunch time , then back to the dust , and letting mikel see how much fun this sanding shit is . todd and mikel
