repop made off an original (I believe all the original hardware is on the new pipe). the original was joe gerdelmans twin engine TE-440 rail. was found in a garage near sellersville with one blown 392 hemi on it by barry werner back around 1992-93 era. gerdelman confirmed the rail. barry later sold it to someone else who decided not to use the old pipe and re-create it with new pipe.
The Vargo Reunion puts the PID Reunion to shame. Sure wish it wasn't so far to go (from western PA) I'd be there in a second!!!
Well i have been going to vargo reunion for about eight years. This year i showed up around 9:30 and the road in was backed up for a long wait to get in. When i did get in i was parked in the field for the second year while brand new cars were parked on the track. There are other events the same day that i will go to next year. I am very sad to see what the vargo reunion has turned into. Just another car show. Just my 2 cents.
A gathering of geezers, former racers , staff etc. Thanks to Joe McNally and staff for a great day, my first there since 1963.
granted i came with a non hamb freindy 69 camaro race car,but parked next to me was a fairly new corvette,i also saw a 80s grand national and a newer super comp dragster
I saw new challengers, camaros, vettes, mustangs. the gran national was nice, but really? Time to ins***ute a year limit. Cool stuff was being turned away at the gate, too bad. Really felt bad for the kid they put out in the road to wave people on. I thought someone was going to clock him one. Got a little tense. All that, but it's still one of the cooler car things around, (and not jus tthe weather) and definitely the best in November.
Always a tuff call to turn people away. Looks like I screwed up the Surfin' Sedan pics will try again later in the week.
Perfectly restored '65 (local) fuel car and it's stuck on a trailer so they could have more room for the 2008 Z06 corvette, the 86 IROC and the nostalgic 220" rear engine super comp dragster
Great pics!! Thanks for posting!! Think we had some of these cars at Pocono drag lodge this summer; maybe some will come to PDL next year. Sure looks like a great turn out and a great time!!! Gaspumpchas
Damn, I missed that show because my boss and I were at a sprint car swap meet in harrisburg gathering hot rod parts, but I'm thinkin I should've gone to vargo
