I've seen some creative use of seats in rods. S-10's,Mini vans.
Anyone else got some good, simple "Pick-A-Part" solutions?

I can't remember if it was here or on one of the T-Bucket sites, but someone had gone to the trouble of making a table which listed seats, donor and dimensions.

I'll see if i can find it again.

In my '31 Chevy p/U, I used buckets from a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire. They fit better than the S-10 seats that came with the cab!

  7. Middle seat out of a Chrysler Mini-Van. Look for the one with folding arm rests on both ends, seat belts in the middle, fold forward seat back...(and hidden cup holders :D)...

You should get out more, they are retartedly priced. I haven't seen any seats from the sixties for less than 300$ around here, and those are the rough ones! But ya, if you have deep pockets, or if daddy's paying, go ahead!

This is a pic of the seat in my '31 sedan. It is back seat from a 3rd or 4th generation F-body.

I used the front buckets out of a 1999 ford contour car. The seats in the 30 coupe can only be 40" wide (max!!!) at the door jambs. The seats were mint and free (I found $7.00 under the seats, so i guess I made money on that one).

I did measure up a set of leather seats out of a Honda Oddesy van. The last/rear seat which folds down into the floor is near perfect. The frame is solid and they measured up nicely. The third seat comes with arm rests and head rests.... Was $100 CDN.

I am in the process of putting the middle seat from a Ford Winstar in my Coupe. I just picked it up from Ron's Upholstery in McHerry IL last night. It looks great. Rich:)

My seats came out of an MG. After some rebuilding with some help from the Moss catalog they're great. Next time around I'll go for different color and a set of warmers.

just a little reminder about 2nd and 3rd row minivan seats. most, when designed, were factored to support children and/or for occassional use. therefore they might not give the support a larger adult might need, especially after extended use.
i know someone who ditched his in favor of a custom built seat and he's only 5'8", 175. just something to consider. the chrysler product minivan seat he chose didn't last and killed his back even for short periods.
