    Well almost, goes to the upholstery shop next Monday to finish up the inside. Heres some links to what I started with and the build progress over the last couple years.

    Drove it for the first time last Sunday, went around the block a few times and there were no leaks, no fires and everything seemed to be working. Headed out to the highway for a pleasant surprise. Seems to have good road manners and rides nice. No big rattles or bangs and goes straight down the road. Carbs need some fine tuning, it runs really good but falls flat when I try to push it very hard. So all in all I'm really happy, not race ready yet but it'll get there. Can't wait to get it out next year especially to the HAMB drags. Gary

    Gary, congratulations! It looks stunning. I've been following this build from the beginning and have really enjoyed your updates. You have a very good eye for detail, everything about it is just spot on, just an awesome car. Well done mate.

    I would like to take credit for the hinged speaker cover, but I'm not that clever. There made and come as a complete kit with the inner box by a shop in Phoenix Az. called HotRods by Dean. Heres a link ;

    The $60 price tag seemed cheap considering the time it would have taken me to figure it out not to mention I'da probably screw'd up a couple grills in the process

    Looks real good. I bet it looks even better from the drivers seat too. That car is AWESOME. That one has to rank right up with another black 40 (you know which one) and a local Cad powered one around here. KOOL

    It all looks right, the car, the color, the wheels, the engine, the trans, ect. Great job on a very nice '40 Coupe.
