Hi folks. I hail out of Winnipeg Canada. I've been into cars all my life and at the age of 56 the interest realy doesn't fade. Althou i was out of the cars for awhile and found motorcycles my new interest about 6 years ago, i couldn't resist the ol hotrods. My first rod i put on the road and finaly finished is a early 28 Ford roadster pick up. Built more as a resto rod which was popular at the time in the late 70's. I sold it on 84 and just aquired it back after 25 yrs. just last month. I built a few after the 28, like a chopped 38 and ***orted others. Chopped a few for friends.I'm not a 'billet' kinda guy so this forum looks interesting. Hope to contribute if i can and glad to be here.
Awww. You're gonna like it here. I also chopped a few cars for friends, just to get some boredom out of the way. And used those skills to finance other hot rod builds of my own along the way. Anyway welcome to the hamb from colorado...John
Thanks man. Glad to be here. Oh.....your friends paid you to chop thier tops? Man i must be doin something wrong. I need a business manager.lol.
Nope the friends cars were free. It was the skills that it helped me to develop that payed off for me...John
I grew up in Dauphin, moved to Calgary in '79 when I was 16, then moved to Neepawa almost 2 years ago to escape the rat-race. I lived in the 'peg from 85-88, but was a motorcycle hoodlum at that time. Used to hang out at the Timmies on Portage & Wall.
Ah a timmys hang out. Went there sometimes on my bike as well. Ride a 99 Drifter. Built a Royal Enfield chopper recently. Old skool style.
If we ever meet up in person we can trade bike stories. I've had all kinds, from Triumph and BSA hardtail choppers, to a Vulcan 800, Virago 750, and lastly a '98 Sporty 1200 Custom. Can't afford bike insurance in this province so I no longer own one.
