Had to take some of the headliner loose in my Nomad to replace a wire harness. I will have to staple headliner back in place. Figure I will buy a stapler and do it myself. Need some tips from on staple size and what type of stapler to get.
I got an air stapler at Harbor freight for about 20 bucks, but get the staples elsewhere. Theirs kept jammin. I used it to re-install the headline in the '35. RB
I used a regular rebuilt Campbell-Hausfeld stapler when I did upholstery for a living. Used it every day without a problem- cost me $30. The stapler really doesn't matter much; be sure to set the air pressure correctly so you're not shooting the staples too deep and cutting the material, and use the correct length staple for the job. That depends on the thickness of the tack strip. Have fun!
I have the HF one also. Works great and use it quite often without any issues. Item number is 46365 20 Gauge 1/2 Crown Stapler Item number for the staples 37119 Yellow Box.
I just use an Arrow hand staple gun. Simple, cheap, and it drives staples into the tack strips with no problem. It'll sink a half inch staple flush into 3/4" plywood. I've used it for tops, door panels, works great. Don't need an air stapler for most jobs.
