  2. Josh,,It is a Super Bell tube axle,,,looks like the one that was turned into a pretzel when my ol' orange roadster bounced off the guardrail in the rain in Ohio. HRP

Glad to hear it was only the car that got bent out of shape and he managed to bounce mostly, he must be doing something right during his 66 years to have walked away from that relatively unscathed.

    Speedy recovery on both counts....

Glad to hear he's gonna be OK. Also glad to hear it was a relatively low speed accident. If that would have let go at highway speeds the story may have been a bit different. Everybody should take the time out and put their cars up on a lift for a CLOSE look at evrything at least a couple times a year.

I'm glad he's in reasonable condition. I wish him a quick recovery.

Has the insurance company be contacted? They'll want to know asap to start covering medical and to get an appraiser out to assess the damage to the car.

Sorry for your friend, he will heal up. Plenty of time to think about a rebuild, on that rear susp.

Street rod, hot rod, doesn't matter. It's only a car & that can be fixed.
Best part is he's going to get better.

Some of my best friends drive street rods & I'd be sick if anything happened to them.
    Wish him well.

Best of luck to your friend.
Independent rear and a dropped axle up front?? That doesn't make sense.

There's problem #1 - sorry to hear he found out the hard way. I will NEVER use Aldan - they use cheapass hollow tubes instead of rods for the pistons.

I hope that both car and owner heal and recover fully.

  20. GET WELL SOON LUTHER! Guess that could happen to most anyone out there. Cool car and hope ya get it back on the hardtop soon!!! Give us all a schooling there. Exactly what went wrong and how to fix it. Look forward to your pics...

  23. I sent out E-mails and reported to the club members about Luthers accident.

I talked with him today on the phone and the eye doctor gave him a good report,,nothing detached, the plastic surgeon and it appears he has some fractures but nothing to worry about.

And the leg is still giving him problems but the doctor assured him that most of the pain is from breaking the shifter with is upper leg.

He is in good spirts all things considered and glad to be above ground.

This is another accident story,,,they happen!

One of our other members, a transplant from Florida and a past NSRA state inspector told the story of his accident in a 32 Ford 4 door sedan and he was lucky enough to walk away from the wreck with only minor cuts and scrapes,,he said he would E-mail the photos when he got home.

I just recieved them and can hardly believe he was able to walk away from this mangled mess!:eek::eek:

Some of you Florida guys might remember Ken,,he built another 32 Ford 4 door and painted it just like the one he distroyedseveral years ago.

Glad your friend came out of the crash fine. A traditional rebuild sounds like the right way to go with nothing more exotic than a I-beam axle, those tube axles are not in the same league with I-beams. Good luck on the rebuild.

I had my first wreck in my truck a couple weeks ago, not my fault, and now I'm freaked out to even try to drive the A. Hope your friend gets well soon. How long had he owned the 32?
