It wasn't lost and it didn't come out of a barn  but I thought I would show off my new truck. Bought it a couple of months ago, been meaning to post pictures but just now getting around to it.

I bought it from the niece of the original owner she bought it from his widow in the mid 80's.

Anyway when I bought it the tires, one heater hose, and the fuel pump were the only items replaced, everything else was original to the truck.

All original paint inside and out and under the hood. Original seat, 25,800 original miles

Here are a few pictures of it. This is after a whole lot of cleaning on my part. It was clean when I got but not this clean

Cool! Love time capsules. I'm looking for a cool truck and I'd be very happy to have bought what you just bought.

That's so friggin clean. It's amazing that a TRUCK, of all things, would be that well maintained and still look that sweet. Very nice score - I'm sure the original owner would be proud to see it live on!

Beautiful truck! I hope you keep it preserved, that's in outrageous condition. Would look awesome with some thin-whites or even blackwall tires.

I bought my Impala because it was like that, it had 46K original miles on it with original paint aside from touch-ups on the quarter panels, wheels/tires, carb/intake, and old seat covers. Not as original (nor as old) as yours though, that's for sure.

That's about all I plan on changing. I hated to do it but I replaced the radiator hoses which were original with GM stamp and part number. The shocks, plug wires cap and rotor.

I'm actually gonna drive it some so I thought it best to replace those items but I kinda hated to do it.

I have all the paperwork and there was an oil change sticker in the door jamb from 1991 that showed 25,425 miles. When I bought it had 25,880 so 460 miles on it since 91 they were really rack em up :D

Yeah I think so too. She was pretty fond of the truck and I think a little picky about who she sold it too. There had been a couple of others look at it and talk about all the things they would change on it. When she was telling me about them she said "there's no way they are getting my truck" it was sort of funny.

You could tell from talking to her that she really wanted someone to buy it that wasn't going to change much on the truck.

I'm gonna take it back in the spring or summer and let her see it all cleaned up I think she'll get a kick out of it and be happy to see that it will remain mostly unchanged.

  11. Man, that's nice Charles. Who was the original owner? I don't remember too many silver trucks from up there(I assume it's from Overton co)

Wow, nothing cooler than an unrestored survivor. I like driving all my stuff around unrestored... but it all looks like shit LOL...

It's actually from Jackson County / Gainesboro about 50 or 60 miles from Livingston in your direction. Originally sold by Cunningham Kelly Chevrolet in Hartsville TN.

  14. haha that's awesome! Not what I was expecting. Sold new 3 miles from my house  I probably know the salesman that sold it! (positively do, if it was H.B.Cunningham)

Mike, looks like it was sold by the service manager L.O. Garret.

Didn't realize you were that close to Hartsville

  16. Don't know him , but I can find out more (if he's still living/around/ in Dixon Springs) One of my loafers worked there mid 60s, and I got a customer that was a mechanic there same period--I'll see both of them tomorrow.

I bought a 64 Impala with 32,000 original miles last year, the paint was wore off the steering wheel like your truck's wheel. I guess it didn't take much to wear it off back then, nice truck!

Nice truck! Watch out for rust. I would keep it dry as much as possible (but also enjoy it as much as possible).
