Hey i know where a desoto is out in the woods by a friends house. I'm not sure what year it is for sure, early 50's from what i can figure.but was wondering what years had hemi's and if there where any other parts off those cars that people sought out. im just thinking of trading material.

    1952 through and including 1957

If it has a tooth filled grille - get it for trade material

Post some pics of the car and folks here will tell you what to get

Okey-dokey, ClouderBack. Hope it's not too cold when you hike out there to inspect the car again.

BTW, IF, IF, IF it's a '50 to '52 with the lighted hood ornament, they are worth good money in decent shape. I just paid $75 for a fair one this summer. The most desirable ones have DeSoto's face made of amber-colored plastic -- the light shown through the back. (Also, I do think the "all-metal" hood ornaments really are NOT. The Hernando DeSoto FACE piece, I'm fairly sure, can be carefully popped out and an amber plastic insert put in there.)
