    When you rip it off, why does the toilet paper always tear off the end of the square instead of on the perforation?

  3. Wait,,, Wait,,,, OHH OHHH let me help you out here.

    [ puts on Sherlock Holmes hat, and pipe]

    So you say that every time in the last place that you have looked, Hummm? very intersting.

    Let me ask you this, After scouring the enviroment for every possible hiding place that your semi precious lost object may be , the eurika moment happens and the exact place where you set down the object in question is finally discovered; yes?

    In the shear joy of finding the lost object, you simply must have forgoten to continue the systematic search you feverishly have undertaken and stopped looking for the object.

    Hence, it is always in the last place that you looked.

    another explanation could be that important little mother fncker is just pissed cause you lost it and it is hiding from you, teaching you a valuable lesson of just how important it really was. Be warned that it will tell all of its buddies to also hide from you untill we learn that lesson .

    WHy do the most beautiful, ***** and intelligent women come out of the woodwork looking for YOU the minute you have a metal band on a certain finger of your left hand? There's got to be some scientific explanation... like the ph mixture of your blood and sweat mixed with whatever various precious metals that said ring is made of create some pheromone that is damn near irresistable.

    The thread question is a matter of surface area, if you have fine threads on the sending unit where (for the sake of argument) 5% of the 10 threads that are engaged are holding to the adapter and 5% of the 5 threads on the adapter are engaged to the engine, the sending unit has a stronger grip...also there's a big difference in the material of a cast iron block and a machined steel adapter, the cast iron is always more porous and gives less surface area to grip to...

    Ever have a socket that will not go on short of hitting it, but will readily fall off?

    Actually Murphy was one of the early aircraft engineers. (According to Carrol Smith) If you forget to tighten something, you can't just peek under the hood at 10,000 feet.

    Cool! Great input everyone! Since beer was mentioned a few times, thanks for the reminder to pick up some Guinness on the way home!

    Steve: I'll certainly check into Joseph Witworth for kicks, thanks!

    The 3 Laws of Mechanical Engineering:

    1: Water flows down hill.
    2: You can't push on a rope.
    3: All electronics run on magical smoke. If you let the smoke out, it will not work again until you put all the smoke back in.

    maybe it has something to do with the br*** sender threaded into the br*** bushing then the br*** bushing threaded into cast block. difference in materials. that's y you never mix stainless with stainless have a fun time cutting that.

    For some reason this reminds me of a hilarious story.....my Dad cut his hand last year on a table saw.

    (no that's not the hilarious part)

    While he was in the physical therapy place with 3 other guys that cut their hands on table saws, they all came to the amazing realization that they "all cut their hands on the last cut".

    Seems not too many guys keep cutting after running their hands across a tablesaw......go figure!

    OK, I've seen this over and over. Things that look like they should leak, DON"T
    and things that shouldn't leak, DO.

    1950ChevySuburban;
    Maybe because the sender has NPT threads and the adapter regular threading... :p

    ajmopar;
    I got a flat on my bicycle when I rode to the drivers license test. I was halfway there.
    So I decided to go back home and get my car instead. ;)

    Von Rigg Fink;
    Simple solution...! From now on, put ****er on both sides of your toast... ;)

    Personally, I always wonder why it's colder outside then in the evenings... :D

    Some Good chuckles here, small fittings tend to thread in deeper than larger and a tip to help prevent gauling or seizure is to make sure a thread is exposed. Smaller fittings tend to run deep therefore likely to stay tight...
