Help Identify this hubcap???

Hi,
I picked this up years ago, just because it was strange. I know its beyond salvage, but I had no idea what it belonged to. Looks to be 40's maybe. Let me know what you think.

 

aftermarket or trailer?

 

I'd say it was a Chevrolet hubcap or aftermarket "copy" of one. About 1939-40 or so. Chevrolet lettering or script would be in the horzontal bar and a red/white/blue stripe design vertically.

 

With the cross I would have to say early Popemobile.

I think you've got it. The early chevy looks to have a lot of similarities. Great eye.
