I'll bet if you contact a old racer from Thompson Raceway Park or maybe from Lucky's Drag City near Erie, PA, they'd know the car.
Another great Falcon. Good luck with finding the history, it took me almost 3 years to uncover my Falcon's history.
i found out my falcons history today. just for giggles i looked for the original owners number in the phone book. he still lives in the same house he did back in the sixties. turns out he built the car(not the kid and his dad). turns out the car raced h/modified production cl*** with it and won a u.s. nationals at dragway 42 back in the day. the guy answered the phone all old and crabby and got all young and happy when he heard i had the car and it was untouched since 1966 . the bottom end was done by miles/gellner engineering. the heads are 66 289 hi po s with stainless 1.94 /1.6 chevy valves done by mickey hart of hart automotive. he said he always wondered what happened to the car. he started a family in the late seventies and had to sell the falcon because he was hard up for cash. he invited me over to look at all the old pics of the car from the sixties. the guy still has the 30 plus trophys he won with the car from the 60s. the falcon was his last race car ever and he never had another he is now retired and said he cant afford to build another car. but he is glad to hear i am keeping it as it was back then. i made arrangements for him to come look at the car this week.
Man, what a wonderful find. If you run out of room to store it, there is a good salt free home for it in North GA. Hope you get it going soon. Try to get copies of the photos he has and post them please. LOVE them Falcons. Falconred
