Take LOTS of detailed pic.s of placement of harnesses, lines, etc. Inside and out and underneath. Any factory markings that are left nd so on. Then post them on some of the Chevy truck sites for restorers to use as reference.

Thanks guys, for all the kind words!! Don't worry as far as I'm concerned it's done. I'm going to replace the tires with some blackwalls and that's it untill something has to be replaced or changed.

It rides smooth and quite no rattles or squeaks, the windows glide up and down effortlessly. I've been pretty amazed by it, definitely the best old truck I've ever owned.

Here's a few more pictures for anyone interested, check out the battery cables.

Beautiful find - you're going to love it.

I really dig those trucks - here's a pic of the one I got this past summer.

    Sweet *** truck.

Amazing that a truck from Gainsboro was kept that nice, and not worked the death.

I would suspect a fuel pump diaphragm failure in the near future, just from sitting. Thats all I would really be concerned with. Thats a really really nice ride. Congrats on it. Take the old lady for a ride!

    TagMan...nice looking truck!

I'm a big fan of this body style. Dad had one when I was a kid, gave it to me when I turned 16, still have it.

It's in pieces at the moment, hope to get it back together next summer.

I have a 3rd one that will be for sale soon. Unfortunately, can't keep 'em all.:(

Isn't that the truth most truck in this area were bought for work and worked hard all their lives.

According to the lady I bought it from the guy bought it for his wife. The wife had no interest in it and didn't drive it much.

She said church was a mile from the house, the store was 2 miles from the house. They worked on the farm, all the family lived within walking distance.

According to her the truck had never been more than 17 miles from their house. That's how far it was into town, 17 miles.

I love that truck. Reminds me of my Grandfather's '64 Custom Cab pickup he had in WYO when I was a kid visiting in the summers. It had about 10K miles on it when he p***ed. My Uncle sold it real cheap to someone in the bay area before I could even raise my hand, saying "you can't find parts for these old things". I can still remember the distinct smell the interior of that truck had. Congrats - nice find
