Not to mention the one piece tail gate in the top pic. NICE.

I'm in the dissasemble/repair/restore stage and it seems like it's taking FOREVER.
My avatar pic is from day one when we brought it home, did a burnout in the drive, and commenced to tearing it apart.

"Here is a canadian 57 pontiac pathfinder that i know of, just pulled out of 35 years of deep sleep in as raced condition. Any info would be appreciated, Jr stock or MP?"

    Nice!!!
As it sits, pretty sure the Hilborns alone would have put it in a Gas Class, let alone the Chevy, but the rest looks like a Jr Stocker. Tow tabs, big skinnies, Stahl or Hooker fenderwells hanging out, 7" slicks, etc.
    Very interesting piece though.
Inside pic was on the Jr Stock thread, about the brake?
Jr Stock was stock, MP was carbs.
Ask for info on the Jr Stock thread, as this cars racing heritage fits in with the time frame of the Jr Stock era. A lot of Division 1 guys over there, who raced at Cayuga.

Boy that 55 Ford was sweet.

  4. That is a Pathfinder and might have come stock with a 283 in it (rare for the SD's - by far most were 6 cylinders). He would have to check the body tag or vin plate to see if it was a V8 car. Then the only way to see if it has a factory hipo engine would be to check a few items on the car or get the GM Historical package from GM of canada. A 57' Pontiac Sedan Delivery is a Canada only vehicle - 637 made I believe.

Pathfinder, Pathfinder Deluxe, and Laurentians are canadian pontiacs and were built on a chevrolet chassis with all chevrolet drivetrain options. This car could have been originally ordered with anything from a 6 cylinder to a Fuelie 283.

Total Canadian Poncho production was under 50,000 IIRC, and by far the lions share of cars were 4 dr sedans with 6 cylinders. The six cylinder was a 261 I believe, and outsold the V8 six to one.

Canadian poncho Hardtops are pretty rare, with only a couple thousand of each body style. There was no canadian Sport Safari (but there is a homemade one out east), but the rest of the product line was available in Canadian cars.

It looks like it has a early SB with hilborns and a hydro. Hydro's were allowed in SD's in stock classes because they were classed as trucks, which could have come with a hydro.

I couldn't resist. I seem to be attracted to boxy rides. I've had these for a long time.

  16. The 57 Pontiac sedan delivery is a rare one indeed!! Could easily have had a 283 in it. I have a 56 Pontiac delivery - not as rare - 1383 made, but still not that common. Mine is in pieces now, but 100% complete. It was originally a 261 3 speed. (MIGHT trade it for the right runnning driving 55-7 two door Chevy wagon :) )

Glad you liked the old burb. I'll see if I can get some photo's of the Chevrollac mtr. We have a lot of fun with it and it makes around 460 HP. You should see it do 6000 rpm burnouts!!!

Still have it on my cell phone, hope you don't mind me posting it.
Don't want to take this O/T, but here's what is under the hood. Enough sharp minds here to figure out what it is, but it took me a minute or 2 to figure it out.
