1959-1960 Chevy... start here

A couple of cool local 59's.....

 

Here's mine...driven pretty much daily since I got it. 31,000 miles, original paint and interior. 6cyl, stick.

 

Wow! Those are some great pics. Could you imagine starting with metal that nice on a build?? Haha. Thats pretty cool to see those old photos. Thanks for sharing them.

I guess you could call it a real "Surf Wagon". Anyway I have memories of driving my Dad's 59 two door post Biscayne, doing donuts in the snow, wish I had pictures. Great thread, love the ***embly line pics.

 

Posted it on the "long roofs" thread. So here it is again. 1960 2 door station wagon. 396/TH400 (original telephone company car with 6 cyl. and three on the tree).

 

Someone trying to cross the creek that crossed the beach and stalled out, then the tide came in.

 

Mine is at "ardmore hrr 2009 pics" it's a 60 biscayne 331 nash/richmond 5 speed.

Look at all that expensive American labor. Better globalize the world economy and move these plants overseas as soon as possible--get those Chinese Communists to build'em cheap. Sad.

What are those white things on the red El Camino... the things going from the windshield to the hood?

Here is my 1960 Biscayne. i purchased it in usa and got it to sweden in may. anyone know anything about it or recognize it?

I just found this thread today, but I must say I am completely fascinated with those first ***embly line photo's. What an excellent thing to be a part of, and what a wonderful time to be involved. I would think those fella's didn't have to worry about plant closings and unemployment. The muscle car boom is on the horizon and they are there working their ****s off making some of America's most beautiful automobiles. Truly Excellent! Thanks for sharing!
