The hamb will never replace the magazines. The hamb is useful and fun to browse, but the magazines are the best..... and they fit better in the garage too!!!!!

  2. Yep, I love the HAMB but belive I will keep TRJ, R&C,SRM and yes, I still get HRM and CC only because of the cheap script rate. I think the traditional Hot Rod scene is still on the rise but sometimes wish it was an exclusive club for the ******** only because of the jibber jabber wacky folks ( you know, the one who wants to put wide whites on thier Pacer!?%$#

I rarely buy mags any more. The HAMB, and other sites online provide me with much better info than I could ever get from a magazine, plus it's interactive! :D

I see that it's already an exclusive club, if you have one piece of billet or you don't have 50 tattoos, metal thru their skin, and a skinhead, you are snubbed. My son and I already had that happen to us 2 years ago at the Good Guys' show. My son loves hot rods and is 6 years old. He didn't understand why they just ignored us when we only wanted to look at their cars, because we thought this '56 Chevy Wagon was cool. If that's where the "traditional" hot rod scene is, they can stay exclusive. I see that they are just as "ex"-clusive as the shop-built guys, one should look within before calling the kettle black. And I have friends with piercing and tattoos, but they treat us as equals and don't like your "******** traditional" people.

We'll just stay friends with the guys that don't have any requirements, personal or vehicle. And they don't listen to and dress like punk rock.

Why wait month to month hoping you'll see some tech article that you MAY be able to use (usually leave a lot of specifics out), when you can jump on the HAMB and get your answer immediately!

I used to get all the mags too. Most of the subscriptions have run out and I didn't even notice because I'm hanging out here so much. Very interactive.

We are getting our traditional fix an a non traditional way!

I just cant' help it...........I'm always gonna have a Rodder's Digest, R&C, Hot Rod, Streetrodder or Car Craft on my desk next to my computer, tuned to the HAMB. I really have gotten to enjoy Car Craft lately....down to earth speed stuff on both traditional and new stuff. Hot Rod has done a pretty good turn-around in the last 2-3 years and I'll always subscribe to Rodder's Digest, even when they wander off the traditional path...

The day I can afford a laptop with a wireless connection to bring into the can with me, well, that will be the day I no longer have magazines.
But I worry about the screen getting fogged up too now that I think about it.

TRJ, R&C, Garage, and a few others. I love the HAMB and look forward to seeing HAMB members cars in print. I believe there will always be a market for print, but its got to be top notch such as TRJ.

In the 70's and 80's I suscribed to all the usual car mags. In the 90's I moved over to mud bogger trucks and quit magazines because I was too busy building stuff.

The last magazines I bought that weren't pre 1970's, was 4 years ago, while my wife was in the hospital for a few days. I then discovered 3/4 of the content is advertising.

In the 70's you could spend hours reading a mag. Nowdays, after you rip out the 15 double page ads from Air-Ride Technologies, Jegs, Summit, etc. You are left with 10 minutes of reading enjoyment.

Publishers should look back to 1960's content if they want to sell more rags.

Sorry Peterson...it's the HAMB for me
Oh, I will confess to a few little books in the bathroom.

Traditional is cool but there are lots of cool ways to build cars. I like the HAMB for what it is but the magazines and other clubs have the rest.Ill take it all !!!

Rubbish! I disagree a Lot of stuff about cars is STILL NOT on the net!- thats why I seek to bridge that gap with my own hobby website www.carmagreviews.co.nz I am the only one world wide that does this... however some Kiwi Magazines have been supportive of my venture by sending me a free mag on a regular basis but Overseas magazines not so.. I come to the opinion that most Automotive Editors and publishers are a pretty thick lot and besides most would not know where New Zealand is? They probably think we part of Fiji or Australia

The Rodders Journal and Hot Rod Deluxe are the only magazines I buy without even looking , I'll flip through the others and sometimes buy if there is a good feature. Pre HAMB it was a totally different story. HAMB is here 24/7 and always has up to date info.
