    I like it!

My brother had one like it, I believe it was a 61. We were going to college and would load 4 guys and all our stuff and drive a couple of hundred miles up Hwy 75 to Fargo. Hwy is flat in that country and if you held it to the boards it would do about 65 mph. We had a heck of a time passing anyone unless we got a running start. This was back in 1966.

yeah she runs like a champ I can easily hit 75 MPH and its purrs like a kitten

    Thanks

Nobody puts baby in the corner! LoL

Sign me confused. And not to dump on the owner, but other than lowering this car looks bone stock, ie... el cheapo... el stripper... the rubber floor mat special. If you had one of these back in the day, the first thing you'd do is dump those wheels and skinny whites. Only GRANDPA liked them that way. So... what makes it a traditional hot rod / custom now? Still confused. Gary

I've been looking to do the same to my '63 Comet but can't find a set of 4 lug 14" wheels. Where did you find your wheels? Everyone I talk to seems to have just tossed a set.

maybe he's just starting this little endeavor and these tires are just to get it drivable. there is absolutley nothing wrong with a bone stock "el cheapo" ride. he's planning on getting some spider caps and really who nows what else he'll do with it. as far as we know he could turn it around and it could be very bad ass for a four door. four doors are great....i should know, i have one.

What do you think Henry Ford's model T or A was? Nothing wrong with that.

He didn't say there was - his question was :

    Yup, GREAT parts cars.

  16. It looks much better with the 14's, but like you said, it does need the spidercaps. Good start.

They look the same except black. I dont see a real diffence. I would have saved up for better wheels. I like chrome so maybe some beauty rings would improve it. Even a better center cap. Of course im no traditionalist either.

Well to answer you question it's a prodject and like all other cars on here you start with one thing and move to the next. First was lowering it then the new biger rims and tires next will be a shave and a paint job. I just got it about a month or so ago and cash isn't growing on trees in my yard so Im doing what I can while saving up cash tp pay for my wedding next Sept. Thanks anyways though for your awesome input! lol

O and heres a photo of the look I want but like I said money right now is tight so I just used whats I already have.

OK. I'll gladly give you the benefit of the doubt on your build. Keep the pix coming. Sorry for any premature speculation about the outcome. I don't have anything against Fordors either. See before and after pix of a car that took me 8+ years to build. Not a pure HAMBster for sure, but I chose my wheels and tires because they were the hot setup in 1966, the year I graduated high school. Those wheels and tires were also the very first thing I purchased for that build. Go figure. But I'm an old guy and I remember clearly when these Falcons first came out. You hit that mark perfectly, the unrestored plain-Jane driver / barn find / geek squad staff car. Please start to personalize it then, as fast as you can. Gary

Period is swell&stuff, but it's hard to find period cool wheels that fit a four lug Falcon. So, because you'd have a hell of a time bolting on a set of Torq-Thrust D's, the steelies look fine, and will look better when painted and ringed like the owner wants to do.
