Hey, guys I thought I'd stop putting off my intro. I've been lurking for a while, I'm learning a lot, so I thought I'd wade in. My name is Billy, and I'm from Saginaw, Texas (a suburb of Ft. Worth). I'm an old Ford junkie, and I love anything old and cool that relates to cars. I think they are ALL cool and merit admiration. I'm not sure that what I have now is considered cool by most of you guys, but I'm working on that one! I have a '66 F100 that is my daily driver, and a '62 Ford Galaxie 500 that is my weekender. My next project is a '65 Custom 500. I love traditional hot rods, although I don't have one - yet. I haven't decided which route I want to go. I'm thinking I want to go the Model A pickup route... but then, the coupes are awesome...decisions decisions decisions. That's who I am, so now I'll go back to hiding in the bushes and learn quietly. I'll try to post some pics. Thanks for letting me hang out! Thanks to 67 Imp. Wagon for turning me on to this site. Billy
Ah, I see now why you reserve the Galaxie for the weekends. Nice truck. I like the hubcaps and the paint scheme. Is it all stock?
Nice introduction Posted pictures without HELP........... Likes old Fords...... Filled out the Bio But then, you are a ***istant principal at a school. You should do well here. WELCOME. Please overlook the spelling and grammar errors on this forum. We are car nuts, not english majors. My wife is always on me about improper sentence structure and spelling. We was a high school teacher for 32 years. She makes me do everything OVER and OVER again until I get it right ........
You did'nt tell me you had a nice truck also. I ran into Billy in Dennison this year and told him he should check out the HAMB. Can't beleive he even posted after telling him how you have to be jumped in with the blood initiation and all. Met Billy about 20 years ago during the VW days.He left VW's long before I did to get back to the big iron. He posted a picture of his galaxy on another thread. Its super clean and he did it all himself. Paint, bodywork and I was suprised when I saw it in Dennison, that he even s***ched the interior himself. Bill, hope you hang out awhile. You'll meet some pretty good people around here.
Do you know the history on that truck? Is it from Alabama or Georgia? It looks a lot like my Grandpa's...
Thanks, Big Cheese. The truck is cosmetically "close to stock" but I have an '84 302 with and AOD, AC (I'm a wimp! what can I say?) It has disc from a 79 F150 and a hidden hitch for a trailer - for projects, of course. I used to have some old school alum. slots, but I thought I'd change the look with some painted steels and caps. I can't believe the difference it made!! Billy
[ QUOTE ] Do you know the history on that truck? Is it from Alabama or Georgia? It looks a lot like my Grandpa's... [/ QUOTE ] I'm supposedly the third owner of the truck. It is from Sequin, Texas. That would be too cool if it were your Grandpa's!
