    Hello everyone.

I am visiting the US in June 2010 :) & I am looking to attend both the Indianapolis Goodguys Hot Rod Nationals & the Minneapolis "Back to the 50's". :D I will be hiring cars where necessary but the long distance bits are plane or train. I am still considering accommodation but in Europe camping at the event is the way to go if you want to be really part of it.

I have a couple of questions about each event.

Minneapolis "Back to the 50's" June 2010.

I am looking to tent camp - a very small tent - & have noticed references to the North & South campgrounds. How far are these from the showgrounds? Will I need a hire car to get from them to the showground?

I would appreciate any useful information. I understand that the
campground details will be available February but I need to be sure of my intentions before then if I am to get the best prices.

Goodguys Hot Rod Nationals Indianapolis June 2010

The raceway website links to the Raceview Campgrounds across the road. Any thoughts from anyone who has stayed there in a small tent? Is there any shade?

BT50's is on the State Fairgrounds - the campgrounds are right there - like one giant park - this is a BIG show 10,000+ cars and you will be so immersed you'll forget about the outside world - like Disneyland or a Casino.

There are a few cheap motels nearby but I would try to book well in advance.

Indy's campground is just to the west side of IRP or ORP as it is now called. Showers on site and although I haven't stayed there several of my friends have. Worked out real well for them. The "Host" hotel is several mile away if you want to get there. The "Host" is the Adam's Mark Airport. You can do a "Google Earth" to see.

I camp at BTTFs every year. Both campgrounds are within the fairgrounds. The north campground has no reservations. The south campground does. I believe it costs $150 for the weekend to camp. You need to have a car registered to camp, so you may want to register 'a' car for the show. It will be cheaper than paying for admission for 3 days. If you want me to send you the camp ground reservation when it comes, please send me a pm.

    It's a great show. You'll have fun !
